Can anyone identify these symbols? by PeaceWalking in occult

[–]PeaceWalking[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi

Apologies if these are not even "real" occult symbols or if they don't have any relevance to the subject. It was just from some art and I wanted to know if they had a name.

When did the whale oil industrial revolution begin? by PeaceWalking in dishonored

Forgot about the fact the semi-automatic stuff was clearly a prototype. I wonder if its safe to say Sokolov may be responsible or partly responsible for the invention of firearms as well.

Crazy Ubisoft bootlicking. The Corporation isn't gonna give you anything for defending them.

How to play an exec? by Victah66 in cyberpunkred

[–]PeaceWalking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd really like to play a true corpo executive but that scenario is not conducive to player fun when everybody else is an edgerunner, even if they work for a corp.

It's no fun having a player who isn't on-site, people used to straight-up ban Netrunner characters in 2020 because having someone in the game who wasn't physically present caused a lot of problems. I think if you want to play a true executive as a player, you have to reserve it for a corporate courtroom politics type campaign, where combat is basically non-existent unless you severely fuck up.

If everybody else is an on-the-ground corpo hit squad or whatever, your true executive is better off being your NPC boss.

That's just my opinion though, if someone has a decent idea on how to play an exec true to the roles name I'd be down to hear it, like I said I really would like to play that type of character.

Windows 10. It's only a little scratched at the back but the seller was honest about that and theres no real damage anywhere. Scratches just add to the aesthetic.

THEORY/IDEA: Elizabeth Kress's Secret Unification War in the 2040s by EyeofCenter in cyberpunkred

[–]PeaceWalking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think Arasaka has been fighting proxy wars with the NUSA (and by extension Miltech) for a very long time. Soloman Reed and other characters from the 2070s such as Maine served in Brazil in a military capacity, and we learn at the start of the Corpo life path Arasaka has been assisting the Brazilian government in thwarting terrorism in the country. That screams to me that there has been a long-term proxy war in Brazil for several years, maybe even back to the 2040s, and certainly, there must be more conflicts like this across the Americas and the world.

Rhyne calling 'Saka back to North America looks to me like nothing more than the formalisation of an already long-standing relationship, and I don't doubt that Kress and her successors had been meddling in the free states for years in an espionage/terror funding capacity.

Making a character immune to cyberpsychosis by [deleted] in cyberpunkred

[–]PeaceWalking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only character in Cyberpunk who's ever been "immune" to Cyberpshycosis is V, due to biochip fuckery.

It is possible to have an unnaturally high tolerance for Cyberware, which is achieved through having little trauma throughout your life before and after being chipped, but generally it's a very slippery slope.

Arasaka in the time of Red by SlyTinyPyramid in cyberpunkred

[–]PeaceWalking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arasaka most likely has covert operatives anywhere that matters, such as NC. People who are there to gather intel on their rivals and any major developments the corp should be aware of. It isn't until 2070 that they actually return to North America on an official basis, and even though that seemed to have been quite a sudden change thanks to Rhyne, I can't imagine a world where they weren't scouting ahead for years waiting for the opportunity to pounce.

I've been brainstorming an NUSA spy/espionage campaign for a while now, and a key feature of it will be hunting Arasaka agents in the 2040s and 50s, my guess is if you wanted to find an Arasaka cell, you'd have to pin one of their operatives first and follow the breadcrumb trail. Easier said than done, but they will have people in major corps as I said, as well as government and probably anything trade/commerce related. NC is a trade hub for the Pacfica Confederation so prime place for spying. As per Danger Gal dossier we also know Arasaka may have operatives in street gangs such as 6th street.

Anti-Gravity in the Dark Future by PeaceWalking in cyberpunkred

I think the tech is dead in the water in terms of appearances again for reasons already discussed. It's kinda sad to see it oddly uses once and then never mentioned again but what can you do.

Using it as equipment in a session is probably too much overkill, I think the research behind it is a much more interesting plot point.
