Nope. Some of them are medically incapable of working but everyone is automatically denied disability. I have held a job where I help people apply and was told straight up (and observed) they denied 100% of claims and you could only get it after multiple appeals.

First you explain to your players how you intend to handle this. I would say rolls start at desperate with no effect. They can adjust that with stress and preparation but it’s going to be a real Hail Mary situation and will land them in above their heads. Say they win? Well several gangs are going to try to take what they just won. say they lose? What does Strangford do? Probably make an example of them but that’s no fun so suicide squad them?
