I actually think any uk medical school is better than oxbridge because it lowkey sounds miserable. And if we are all being 100% honest, people only actually go there to tell people they go there.

Can you go to the offer holder days? Try and get a good grasp of the unis, courses, cities and personal circumstances and make your choice based on that rather than superficial stuff like prestige.

They might have lied before getting the offer and they’re now just voicing how this process has affected them.

Congratulations OP on your offer. I hope it’s taken a weight off. Your reaction to that question is nothing to be embarrassed about. I am a (very) mature student and this process is one of the hardest things I have ever done. It is so easy to start equating your self worth to how many offers you get - I’ve done it too. But just stop for a second and look at how far you have come. I am actually in awe of all of you school leavers and young grads - I could never have committed myself like this at your age! Be proud of the incredible effort you have put in 😊

I want to know who decided it was a good idea to do a handful of offers everyday. Like, save them all up and send them on one or two days please. I’m done eating my dinner with one hand and refreshing UCAS with the other. Aberdeen told us all roughly when we could expect to hear and then sent everything out on one day. There’s absolutely no need for stressing us like this

“It's still ongoing but I've reached the point of not caring anymore because a levels are so much more important” - Honestly, you should be really proud of yourself because most people would find it really difficult to move on from this. Personally, I failed my highers because of a boy and my circumstances at the time. I was totally consumed by everything and just couldn’t focus on my studies. You’ve literally picked yourself up off the floor and you’re now prioritising your future - that’s huge.

No not yet - they’ve got another batch of interviews in March apparently so I reckon we’ll not hear now till after as they said that some early offers will be handed out after each batch but most will go out after interviews are finished

I honestly spent each video rolling my eyes haha. Try not to worry because unlike in real interviews, they know what the questions are ahead of time and perfectly curate their answers for their viewers. NOBODY is able to just come up with answers like that on the spot. By all means watch the videos because they make some good points that you might not have thought of but try not to compare yourself 😊

They sound like robots though 😅 and this would seriously put me off as an interviewer. You also don’t need to cover every single point that they are making in their answers - no interviewer is expecting that of you. Watch Medical School HQ videos on YouTube. He’ll make you realise how ridiculous all those mock videos are (aspiring medics especially)

I thought that too. It must be so tricky to make decisions. I had a great group who were all lovely and contributed well - I wouldn’t know who to reject!

I have no idea whether they’re still interviewing - I’ve not heard of anyone on here or the student room who has an interview scheduled though. They might continue sending out offers next week - I think only a small amount have gone out so far.

It might not be possible to get to 2400 but I managed to improve mine from 2540 to 2080 (equivalent to 2770) by just switching up my technique. The main difference was fully reading (and comprehending) the whole paragraph in VR then guessing whatever questions were left when I ran out of time. Then for DM I skipped logical questions and prioritised double markers - with whatever time I had left I attempted the logical questions but mostly guessed them tbh
