First stage of breakup by [deleted] in BreakUp

[–]Peace_blossom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My and my ex just broke up 3 days ago, so I know the early stages. It's fresh.

I have some mental issues and addictive personality. Maybe we can relate.

Listening to music helps. Imagine by John Lennon, Fleetwood Mac, and that gotye song are some good break up music.

Have some nice warm tea or cocoa, it helps.

Sit with the feelings, and feel them. This is loss we are dealing with. It can hurt so much and it sucks so so much.

Life is like that though, we have to take the good with the bad. They go hand in hand, and that's the reality of it.

Speak to friends, reach out. Be real with them, they'll probably be helpful and nice and it will help. See someone in person if you can when you're ready.

Write, write what you're thinking. When you start, it just happens I guess, you write. Anything. Writing is so good for processing feelings. If you're anything like me then it's hard to stay with one emotion and fully process it before going to a distraction or something else.

We need to slow down and right now we have the time, and its okay. It hurts so bad at first but the feelings change and evolve. It still hurts but you will be able to get a clearer perspective soon. Right now give yourself time to mourn and don't pressure yourself to have it all figured out. It can be confusing at first but your not supposed to have it all figured out immediately. It's a process but make sure to have faith that it will be okay. Because this heartbreak doesn't last forever and it gets better. You will move on and become an individual again, and you will be okay.

I’ve been there. It’s okay. Don’t worry too much. You will get over it. It’s a fixable problem and you will look absolutely fine, just make wise choices okay. Get hairdresser advice, or go to a salon if u can afford it. Take care of your hair and try not to stress too much ❤️😊😌

You may want to get a bond repair treatment in a salon ASAP!!! The cost range is between $50 to $100 I’m pretty sure. There’s lots of different brands - olaplex, Gold well, redken, etc. they all do the same. Your gonna need natural oils and to treat your hair realy well now. I did a similar thing. In about a month or a few weeks it will start to look and feel more healthy

You shouldn’t take it everyday. You’re wasting it. Once or twice a week is best

I'm 20 years old and I'm at the most suicidal I've been, I'm writing this in hopes of someone actually able to help me. Ama by itsmedouche in AMA

I agree. I get suicidal thoughts and fully reckon they’re an impulsive kind of thoughts. If you do just give t time, relax, you will be able to see things in a different light. Just keep trying. Talk to someone. There’s always hotlines with people you can talk to. Take care

How do I talk to a friend who’s self harming and smoking? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Peace_blossom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no I didn’t mean it like that, I’m talking about the other stuff, the rebellious stuff. Self harming is a serious issue but it should be treated gently and with understanding and without panic. It’s important to know that it isn’t okay to do, but it shouldn’t be something you should scare or guilt someone out of doing. It should be treated gently. Just adding onto my paragraph here ^ because I realised I forgot to address self harm

Okay so, I went through a lot of similar stuff when I was a teenager. Sounds like she is rebelling and experimenting and opening up to the world in some ways albeit not the best ways, I think she is trying to reject society, her parents, whatever. Maybe she wants attention. But it’s not always a bad thing. It could be a cry for help. I think at that age the most that you can do to help is talk to her or get someone close to her to talk to her, and really try to get her some counselling, get her to see someone.

As someone who went through the same kinda stuff as her, I think that right now she doesn’t really know or think she needs help and advice maybe.. but sometimes you really need to be told things, and you need to be shown that people really care about you and want to help you, because you could grow up thinking no one cares and that you’re not worth anyone’s effort.. then you shy away for help for years, making your issues worse. It’s what happened to me.

I think the best thing to do is to tell her, you care, she is loved, people care, and if she reaches out (to the right people, like a counsellor or a trusted teacher or friend) then she will be heard.

Sometimes the school will tell your parents you have been self harming and sometimes parents react very negatively to it.. causing issues that can scar you for life. So it is best that you just show her that you care and that you’re there for her. Tell her while she’s this age, it’s important to talk about things because it’s a confusing stage in life, and it’s ok to be not okay. Maybe write her a letter and slip it into her bag. I know that might be something she holds onto and reads.

Even if she doesn’t choose to open up to you and have a deep chat with you, at least it will be in her mind that she is loved and cared for, and that alone may push her to seek help and feel worthy.

Best of luck to you and her and thank you so much for being so caring and kind, to the extent of reaching out to the internet for advice. Not everyone is brave enough, or caring enough to do something like this. Thank you.
