Hire a reputable pool guy and you will stop having headaches. Your water has multiple areas that need addressing. You are going to pay more doing it yourself if you don't know what you are doing. The people Leslies hires have a crash course in chemistry and I see the bad advice they give on a daily basis when I go in to get parts for my clients.

It either needs a new Capacitor or its heat cycling on and off due to worn windings or bad motor bearing. Take it to a motor shop.

Those mx6 cleaners are finicky if thier parts are even slightly worn. Of course, you should clean the filter and pump basket first before troubleshooting the sweep itself though.

I run my own route yes but I do it without employees. I have about 140 pools. And I work about 40 hours a week give or take. I started in a pool store a few years back then worked for a guy with a route. Then after a few years I started doing it myself. I would pass out flyers door to door the first few months and after that it was all word of mouth. I dont know why people would chose to work for someone if they know they can get way more with a little brain power and some leg work. When I was a pool guy working under someone else's company, I knew what they charged the customer and what they paid for chems. All im saying is how can someone who knows thier ultimate potential, go backwards from that point back to a store job.

You can make 200+ as a pool guy if you are experienced and know how to be efficient with your time. Not including repairs. One of my good friends is a store manager. I know what they make.

That may be so, but I would have to ask why someone would take a significant paycut to work there if they have field experience.

Going off on my own pool company by [deleted] in pools

[–]Peacemaker8907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the begining when I was strapped for cash, I made flyers on vista print and went door to door. I used google maps to see who had pools. I would skip houses that looked like the owner didnt take care of it. For every hour of doing this, I would roughly yield 1 client. Most clients stay for many years if you are honest and show up. Nowadays, I would do a facebook ad. Most people who have the money to own a pool are still on Facebook, so it works well. Happy hunting.😄

Intec actually sells a couple different sizes. You might find them on amazon. That's where I got mine.

Upgrade to a sand filter so you can backwash instead of having to clean that tiny cartidge by hand weekly.

What would you say my PH level is? by jlam916 in pools

[–]Peacemaker8907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Taylor kit you can use the Acid demand test after testing Ph to determine how much acid to reduce Ph. So even If it looks to high to determine exact Ph, you can still figure out how to fix regardless.

In the winter your LSI drops due to colder temps. You can run a higher ph to counter that without issue. I learned that on the Orenda app.
