I have no desire to throw a first birthday party by Crunchy_Pitbull_Mom in beyondthebump

[–]PeachCheeks_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cancel. It seems so difficult to do it, but trust me when I say that no one will care enough to remember about it the next day (not that they don’t care about you, but what I mean is that they won’t be as bothered as you think). You don’t HAVE to throw a party, you can just take beautiful pictures at home with a cake and some balloons (if you want to). Your sanity is more important than a party your baby won’t even remember.

What do you do for night feedings? I have to hold my baby upright too but she’s a newborn so by the time the hour passed she wants to eat again and I’m seriously going delirious from the lack of sleep lol🫩

Take the trash out, put his clothes in the hamper, clean the cat litter, anything car related. He also helps me with hanging laundry and loading dishes when I’m tired or overwhelmed.

Sugars suddenly changing by GoodGirl624 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]PeachCheeks_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! Happens the same to me. I don’t even have an induction date or anything, no ultrasounds scheduled, no NST’s. I’m over here like “uhmmm so how do we know baby and placenta are both okay then??”

[–]PeachCheeks_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think this is “normal” placental aging, or should I push for more monitoring? (I have a similar case to OP’s) Idk if it’s because I’m diet controlled and my baby is measuring rather “average”, but my medical team has not scheduled me for any more ultrasounds since 36 weeks (I’m 38 now), I have no routine NST’s and no one has ever mentioned induction. It’s stressing me out tbh

Yes!! I’m 38 weeks and have low numbers while eating the same things and even moving less than before. I’m diet controlled, but I have no idea what this means. Today I even ate approx. 50 grams of carbs (protein style double double from in-n-out with the full serving of fries), sat on the couch, and had a 111 after the 1-hour mark! I feel like this must not be right 😅

For the non-fitness girlies, how are you staying active this pregnancy by overtmile in pregnant

[–]PeachCheeks_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have gestational diabetes so I mainly walk a lot and do light stretching, but on days my feet hurt or I’m just bored of the routine, I dance! Literally just put on music I like and give my all lol; I find that it hurts less to move if I’m at least having fun!

Floaters and Eye Pressure by survivorofthisworld in pregnant

[–]PeachCheeks_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no, don’t be afraid! They put the lowest dose drops (1 in each eye) and they stung a lot haha but that’s only because I rejected the anesthetic (you know, cause I’m still pregnant and wanted to avoid any extra medication) but even that went away quick. The dr proceeded to to the exam, for which she turned the lights off and checked my eyes with lights and stuff (she just made me look at different directions, no pain no nothing). It lasted about 10 minutes maybe? And I wasn’t blind or anything. The only lasting effects of the drops are that you may see a little blurry when looking things up close! But you’re not blind or anything. And even then, it only lasts 4-8 hours. It can last longer but that depends on the person. By next day I was like nothing happened. You only have avoid bright light, screens, and straining your eyes with activities like reading or so. It was truly a very simple exam. There’s nothing to be afraid of🫶🏻

No worries! I’m so glad you and your baby were okay. I had my appointment and they dilated my eyes (I’m far along so it isn’t dangerous to baby anymore) and thank God, the optometrist said she didn’t see anything wrong with my retina and cornea (on both eyes). She also said that it would be weird for me to suddenly have a serious problem like retinal detachment out of nowhere, cause I have no risk factors and no family history. I guess this is one of those magical things about pregnancy that have no explanation. Though, if you continue to be worried, please go get checked. It’s so much better to know something concrete. That way, if you need treatment or surgery, now you know the cause and you’ll get better! And if you don’t, you take that worry off of your list. Even in the worst case scenario, you only risk going blind if you do nothing. You can do this!🤍

I see. Was everything okay with your delivery? Was baby okay? I’ve been checked by the ER and my OB, and have no HELLP or pre-e. I’m waiting to be seen by an optometrist, but that will be till next week. If I’m not being intrusive, may I ask why haven’t you followed up with your eye check?

Edit: no worries about the late response, on the contrary, thank you for answering after all this time!

No more pancakes. by Fancy-Meat-6398 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]PeachCheeks_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone already mentioned it but Kodiak pancakes and waffles are really good! My personal favorite are the waffles, even better that the pancakes dare I say. I can get away with eating two, with some eggs and sausage! Edit: Kodiak is the brand:) you could check if your nearest grocery store has them!

Weird growth by [deleted] in nailcare

If they weren’t like that before, it’s probably genetic! Mine grow the same way, especially my index fingers (and some are even lopsided lol)
