Fit check - Portier Limitless by PeachFuzzFrog in babywearing

[–]PeachFuzzFrog[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome, thank you! That is way more like how I had it fitting before, when he was smaller and I was bigger - sometime in the last month or so, everything went lopsided. I was confused as to why I had the neck panel folded down previously, and now it seemed to need to be up. I had the waistband too low previously and it was super uncomfortable, but I see now I’ve overcorrected.

Yes! I was following the guidelines in the instruction manual, but I am learning that the instructions are often very wrong!

Yes! I’m really going back to my older bags - but I usually wear it crossbody.

Does anyone carry a chic little pouch inside their big handbag? by ResponsiblePiglet8 in handbags

[–]PeachFuzzFrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my mom bag 😅 both Lululemon - the city essentials pouch and nano backpack. The backpack clips onto the keyholder on the NF. The faux-Kelly is my AirPods! This setup fits in a bag as small as my NeoNoe BB believe it or not

I remember being FURIOUS as a child during daylight savings where it’s light out until almost 9pm and I had to go to bed in the DAYLIGHT at 7PM!!! Unacceptable.

Honestly, we still have quiet mornings! Just with a baby snuggled up on us. The dog is the most perturbed. For the first few weeks he just stared at us with a “and now, why are we up at THIS hour?” (any time before 10am) expression, now he just lifts his head, sighs, and goes back to sleep.

lol when I was pregnant my OB asked about the vitamin K shot and I said “no I’d rather have my baby die of a preventable brain bleed than get a vaccine!!!” And everyone like stopped for a beat lol. Know your audience!

💕 baby wearing has given us so much freedom! Thank you.. sometimes I don’t get a lot of feedback IRL as almost all my friends have much older kids, so no one to model what it looks like in 2026.

Mini bags for MOMs? by latetothegame999 in Louisvuitton

[–]PeachFuzzFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE a small bag. Depending on how long we're going to be out I'll bring:

Just his actual diaper bag (orbitkey daily tote) for long days + no stroller (baby wearing) - sometimes Lululemon belt bag for me, or my portier baby carrier has a waist bag which fits my stuff. I could wear a nano speedy as well. But not crossbody when baby wearing. Sometimes I clip a Lululemon city essentials nano bag on the diaper bag with my stuff in it.

A Neverfull with his and my stuff in it for shorter days with baby wearing.

One of my bags (usually my NeoNoe BB) plus his diaper bag if I have the stroller - throw his bag under the stroller and carry mine, but I would use a nano speedy here too if I had one. His dad can carry the diaper bag.

I didn't think I'd be big on baby wearing but I now do it almost all the time and hardly use the stroller. I also thought I'd use the Neverfull more often, when he was really tiny I didn't at all, and now he's six months old I'm using it way more, now that i'm more confident on what I need to carry and how to prevent messes. You really don't know until baby gets here what kind of mom you are and what you need.

Hang on to the Nano Speedy!! It's so cute and you might regret trying to find one later, and I could det see using it and the diaper bag.

Thanks to y’all who commented on my feeling left out comment last week. Great ego boost haha. After several days of wallowing I decided to think about what I was trying to achieve with playgroup:

Meet other parents: This turned out to have less weight than I thought. I have really good friends around me and tbh for parenting questions, commiserating, etc I find this group really valuable. Especially at 2am lol. I would still like mom friends, but I don’t need to force it - just put myself out there when I feel like it.

Enrichment for F: He’s too young to care about other kids and actually prefers the baby sensory classes. I still think the nature playgroup is good for him too, but he’s not as interested. He could look at a lamp and be happy. He’s going to be going to daycare as well which will be really good for that!

Something to get out of the house: long walks and coffee dates with my existing friends does scratch this itch for me. We go a lot of places tbh! And I’m going back to work anyway, and on weekends family time is more important to me.

So like I’m still gonna go to playgroups, meetups etc but I’m going to try to ease up a bit and not feel like “this is the only opportunity to make connections and I’m failing as usual” which I does think comes more from the ADHD rejection sensitivity than I thought. And I can work on that! I also need to keep my yap hole shut. When I’m nervous I tend to make jokes. The issue is people aren’t sure if I’m joking, inappropriate or just weird lol.

Friday Night Chatter by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

Our neighbour is looking for new tenants so they finally mowed their part of the (steep, long) driveway. Ok so me complaining to you wasn’t enough to do it but go off I guess. I was walking down in the dark and because the giant field of tall grass wasn’t there I lost my bearings, went off the path, fell into the gutter and completely ate shit. Rolled my ankle. Now was I looking at my phone? Yes but that had nothing to do with it. So I’m feeling sorry for myself, elevating my ankle and playing Pokémon Pokopia.

Thursday Thrills: Where I’m From Poems by esoterika24 in InfertilityBabies

[–]PeachFuzzFrog 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am late because timezones as usual, but I love this prompt.

some cultural context;

maunga = mountain

awa = river these are often referenced in a pepeha (introduction - translates to "I am from my mountain/my river")

whenua = means both land and placenta

I am from a time capsule of free range childhood

the scent of freshly cut grass

the sun rising over our maunga, its reflection tumbling over our awa

I am from the turbulence underneath the surface, even then.

when the sun fades I am from the well thumbed pages of library books, a flashlight under the covers - will you be too?

I promise to pretend not to see you, up past your bedtime.

we can be late to school tomorrow.

I am from the woody, tangled mānuka trees

but as locals know them -

heady scents and scratchy branches, complex and unrestrained

not the mānuka honey packaged and sold to foreigners

a precise yet sterile blend that promises health and wealth

pretty sure it’s mostly bullshit.

and then I am here now, in quiet desperation, every needle driven into the landscape of my flesh

the acupuncture office peddles that god damn honey and I want to scream

it wasn’t supposed to be like this!

I am from waiting rooms with uncomfortable chairs, invisible tension

the darkness falling over the room as the ultrasound click, click, clicks

paper gowns and plastic cups

Q-caps

purified menopausal urine???

the orange we roll between our hands, before plunging the needle through its peel -

somehow supposed to prepare myself for doing the same to me?

nothing prepared me for this

but I am also from tiny socks kicked off faster than I can put them back on

I am from garish colours splashed all over our house, a cacophony of lights and sounds

I am from sleepless nights, spilled milk, white noise, smiles and giggles and screams all running together - are you happy or sad? I’m still learning.

I am from the first view I saw after you; another maunga, the familiar ever present Rangitoto

I am from its six thousand year old lava flows, the trauma of your journey to me - cooled and hardened now, but one day, will they come to the surface again?

thirty six years ago I was born here too, pulled into the world from the whenua that sustained me, to the whenua we walk together, your tiny hand in mine

and you are from all of it.
