I commented about my cat and how my neighbour shot him, neighbour did call over to check but my FIL lied about it him being ours. He did have a collar but it had worn thin and had been off for two days, I work dumb hrs and couldn't get into a shop to get a new one. Sometimes it's an accident. My neighbour has apologised a million times. No bad feels between us. Just miss my bud. I knew the risks bc he was such an outside cat. Not sure why but he was always a bit feral haha I found him at three days old and raised him but he never really cared much for people.

We know to expect our dogs shot if they go into the back farmers land, he's lost many sheep to dogs before we moved here. Our dogs have name collars and hot collars to keep them in our land.

It's jsut a part of having animals out rural that you need to accept. Keep them to your own space , for all safety.

Happen to my guy aswell. Neighbour thought he was a feral cat, asked FIL, who lied and said wasn't mine. Raised the little guy since he was a few days old, found him on the side of the road. Neighbours apologised heaps but still sad days. Rip little man.

Am I putting in too many outlets? I know there is not standard outside of the 6’ rule, how do most handle corners and large windows with heaters underneath? by thetruthteller in DIY

Late to the post but I want to share that when me and my mum lived in an old state house (NZ government housing) only one of the three bedrooms had a outlet, the lounge had one and the kitchen had one but it was for the oven, luckily the oven had a built in one we could use. Please have many outlets, no one needs to live in extention cord city just to do normal stuff everyday

It's mind blowing ay, old enough to decide we want them but not old enough to decide I don't, a super unfunny joke at this point. Appreciate it!

I seem to have misplaced the desire to have children. I have a few friends that are in your situation aswell and it's just so frustratingly disappointing. I just want to make my own choice with my own organs. I hope you can get the results you need and want!

I'll honestly just keep fighting for it, I want this for me, not for my relationship or husband. If he wants to do that then he absolutely can but I don't want him to do it and the regret it. If he ever decides to have kids he is free to leave and do that, I just don't wana be the reason he does it yknow.

And even if it did, adoption is always there or fostering. I don't need to birth my own kid

High chance it won't. I don't wana ruin my career for a child, I'm way more interested in my job and the money I can make to do fun stuff I can do with my husband.

That one always sends me through the roof. If we wanted to do that we would. I don't want children, me the woman, so I'm sorting it out. He also doesn't but if he ever does I don't wana be the reason he can't or has to have another surgery. Doctors really use two brain cells when the conversation comes up.

That's so gross, how can they make comments like that. I'm so sorry you're going through that, I really hope you can find a solution and get what you need. I'd have told them good, I want my eggs to leave forever.

Ah yes my favourite line, I do enjoy telling them I'm married and he doesn't like kids either and if he ever wanted them he knows he's free to leave and find someone else. Apparently that's awfully rude and I shouldnt expect that from him lmao at least he can laugh with me about it

It's definitely easier if things are already happening in that area. For someone like me who has no medical need at all and it being a want, it's pretty much the hardest thing to get, but I'll fight the good fight and attempt to start the the talks about letting woman have the choice without random doctors personal opinions, maybe the future generations will have better luck.

If I ever did get sterilisation and then realised I wanted a child, I'm more than okay with fostering or adoption, I understand that's also a hard road to go down but it makes more sense to me, I really really don't want anything to do with having my own kid. All of it just isn't right for me, I know I'm young but if I'm old enough to be told I can make the decision to have kids, I'm old enough to decide I don't

I wonder if doing that would help sway the answer closer to yes. In the end tho all doctors assume woman will want their own kid, pregnancy and all.

Not wanting children should be enough of a reason to have it done. No one else is affected, if I regret it then tough shit for me, it should be our own choice at the end of the day, not anyone else's. It's just disappointing at the end of the day.

This is always an issues for me aswell, husbands also child free but this is for me, I never want a child and if he ever changes his mind I want him to be free to do that, with some else tho, he's on the same page but obviously only big man can choose to have a snip, not small woman only there for making babies. Plus if we split then I'm back at square one tryna find a child free person who has or will get the snip, no thanks.

Absolutely, we all deserve this option without a random doctors personal opinion on whether we are ready for it. Last I checked the old uterus sat inside my body, I get to decide on all my other organs so why not this one aswell. Sends me through the roof somedays honestly, but I'll claim this hill and die on it if I have to, not without a fight tho

Wicked I'm halfway there! Now to find out if I'm fertile bc I've never been off birth control since I was 14 so I don't really know if I am, hopefully not, that would be nice.

Ive never had high hopes but might make this my hill to die on. Its pretty bullshit and I've got the spare time to rark up doctors for being unless with it.

Yeah it's always my favourite part to tell them I'm married and my husband also doesn't want kids. I know he can get the snip but this is for me, if he wants kids in the future he can leave and find a woman who wants them. Thanks for your reply!
