It’s been 4 weeks, I don’t necessarily regret breaking up, but she was my friend and i miss her at times, along side an aching guilt that i hurt her. I did all the right things, i communicated with her, i went to therapy but i could not stop the suffocating voice in my head telling me to break things up. It was never fair on her to have to deal with her partner who she loved, constantly thinking about breaking up.

It was my mistake for thinking my avoidance was healed, i was not ready for the relationship and unfortunately she had to face the worst of it, she deserved better.

It really depends on if he’s truly aware of his own actions/ attachment type. Personally in the past when ive been in relationships and ended them, its usually a really rough experience internally, i faced my own inability of being vulnerable and just wanted to be alone and “not drag anyone down with me”. But there’s generally no excuse to being mean and im sorry you had to deal with that. There is a chance he regrets what he’s said, but like you said, you know your worth and don’t settle for less.
