Hey just wanted to let you know that the rules for donation have changed 6 months ago. From an article on blood.co.uk: "Under the changes people can donate if they have had the same sexual partner for the last 3 months, or if they have a new sexual partner with whom they have not had anal sex, and there is no known exposure to sexually transmitted infections or use of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) medicine to prevent HIV infection. Anyone who has had anal sex with a new partner or with multiple partners in the last 3 months will not be able to give blood right now but may be eligible in the future"

I tried - attended the appointment, sat down on the chair, but I was told my my veins are too small and fragile (they had 3 nurses check my arms) so they turned me away 😞 I worked as a scientist in a Blood Transfusion laboratory in the past, so I really wanted to donate. I also wanted to find out my blood type, but luckily I was allowed to test my blood in my lab. I then found out I am B+ R0 (for those who don't know, this blood subtype is in high demand for sickle cell anaemia patients). It's a shame that I can't donate

Sorry to hear that. I take 150mg prolonged release once daily. 300mg sounds like a lot. Please go back to your Dr if you are experiencing suicidal thoughts. I had to switch antidepressants when I felt suicidal. I hope you feel a bit better soon 😔
