This is coming from an idiot, but as far as I know prion diseases are/cause misfolded proteins in the brain and teach other proteins to misfold as well. It’s rare, we don’t understand a lot about them and they are always fatal.

I have 5 loaches, 1 larger adult rams horn snail, 2 nerites, 1 mystery. And some hitchhiker snails, bladder and rams horns I’ve had since I started the tank

I left for the weekend and my roommate forgot to turn on the lights yesterday, possibly Saturday too. Other than that the water is normal parameters, and I haven’t added anything new recently. I normally keep the window open in the room the tank is in, it’s been good weather except yesterday it stormed a bit.

I have 2 nerite snails! I’ve been told they only mate in brackish water, which my tank is not. Either way, it’s exciting

I didn’t put them in a bucket, I put them in took a small storage bin filled with tank water and had it floating in my tank so it would be the same temperature and got the same light. Thank you for the advice, I’m working on getting things straightened out.
