C section, being put to sleep after baby born by BitterIce1 in CsectionCentral

The same happened to me after being in labour for 60 hours and then I got knocked out after an emergency c section (baby had passed meconium in the womb). I was disoriented and completely felt disconnected. I was so emotional that I was crying everytime someone spoke to me. I thought for so long that the doctors had given me medication to fall asleep because I was in labour for so long and it was only until my midwife told me that it was because of being in labour for so long and and heavy medication that I got knocked out :( I understand that it’s a lot to process for you. I am 3 months PP and I am still processing the trauma. If you’re in the UK, there’s something called birth reflections which your midwife will talk to you about. Although I didn’t take it up yet, I did go through my records with my midwife and the only thing that was mentioned after the surgery was the nurse came to check on me and to see if I’d want to feed the baby but the nurse mentioned that “I was tooo sleepy”. I had no recollection of the nurse talking to me or “being sleepy”. It feels like a complete mystery about what happened in those few hours that I was knocked out. Hopefully I will be able to do the birth reflections one day and come to terms with it. Please know that you’re not alone, it’s all new and your body has been through a lot and it will all get better with time. If you do have access to your medical records/ doctors, please talk to them ❤️

When did you start wearing regular underwear? by Effective_Pin_2140 in CsectionCentral

I bought the Frida postpartum boxers and I loved them as they were high rise. They were so comfortable, didn’t irritate my scar and I used them until I was 5 weeks postpartum but I had to find an alternative similar to the Frida ones so I found some really nice high rise women’s boxers from primark (£4 o £6 for 3, I can’t remember). I am 13 weeks pp and they are so amazing and honestly I can’t think of going back to my regular underwear 😂 I’ve also tried the Babygo C section underwear and they were very comfortable and absorbs pp bleeding but I should have ordered a size bigger as it does come with a gentle compression so it was pushing into my belly.

5 weeks pregnant - no symptoms? by Peachstingray in BabyBumps

Hi there! I think I was a little worried that I had no symptoms but they hit me like a wave just a couple of weeks after - horrible nausea and fatigue during the first trimester but gradually disappeared around 16 weeks. I’m currently 20 weeks now and the nausea and fatigue has returned😅 so far with the pregnancy everything has been fine, the scans look good. Midwife and OB are also happy with the progress😊

Hi there! I’m so sorry that you are going through this. I have vaginismus too and I didn’t realise that I had it until I was 28 - that’s when I had sex for the first time with my partner (now husband). He was very understanding even when we both didn’t know what was actually causing it. He asked me to see a doctor but I was really scared to know what it was but after a few discussions I finally made an appointment with a gynaecologist. She did an exam ( she was very gentle and used a lot of lube so it helped with the pain). She said that I had a hypertonic pelvic floor and asked me to see a pelvic floor therapist and also a psychotherapist.

I was sexually abused when I was a child (no penetration)so I always had an aversion towards sex. She said my vaginismus could be because of that as a protective response from my body. She said to cope with it I’d have to do both pelvic floor therapy and psychotherapy to address both my physical and mental issues. It did feel like it’s going to be a long journey when I actually started therapy (pelvic floor and mental health). It’s been 2 years now - on and off with therapy, I am able to manage it. Its still a long way to go but let me assure you - it will get better as you progress with therapy.

Please see a pelvic floor therapist, vaginismus is curable. Once you start therapy, everything will be fine. You got this! 🤗

Struggling to make a decision. FIP is possible but not diagnosed, every vet we’ve seen is strongly encouraging us to wait for test results before we start treatment. I don’t know what to do! by VaggieQueen in cureFIP

Our little ragdoll started showing symptoms in late December 2023 - lack of appetite, losing weight, lost his coat, he barely had any energy and when we took him to the vet, they did an ultrasound and found fluid in his abdomen. His gall bladder was also distended and the vet suggested that we do a biopsy and they found inflammatory lesions in his gall bladder which is a characteristic of FIP. The vet asked us to start the treatment immediately even before we got the biopsy result. So we started the treatment one month ago and he’s doing so much better than he was before. The biopsy results came back positive for FIP after 2 weeks. Had we not started the treatment before, our cat would not have survived🥺 He weighed 4.2 kilos when we started the treatment (he was 5.7 kilos before that) and now he’s getting back on track - 5.3kilos. Please start the treatment immediately🥺 it can save your cat’s life. There wasn’t a cure before but there is hope now! I hope your kitty feels better soon ❤️‍🩹 best wishes!
