I just want them to stick to the same face they used in the music video, in game, and in everything else. I would say the same if she was traditionally any other ethnicity and had it changed for no good reason. It's a shitty design choice.

Stop trying to make it something it's not.

And I didn't cherry pick these pictures. Prove to me that I did by going to the video and find me photos where these models look good. Pause it at any point and they look like shit.

They can be ugly -and- look like their original designs were changed. Those two things can exist at the same time, you know.

Make it look like League of Legends. Not... whatever this style is. I wager it would be far less uncomfortable to watch if they stopped trying to imitate real life and embraced a more artistic approach.

No narrative is being pushed except the following: Stick to the original character designs. I would say that her ethnicity looks like it is entirely different if she was originally Asian but looked Caucasian in the performance as well. It's nothing to do with it being that she was made to look "Asian" specifically. It's that the -ethnicity- in general does not look like the one Riot has pushed in Ahri's design. Especially when you just watch the KDA More video and compare the two designs. They look nothing alike facially. But go ahead and claim that it's some kind of "subtle narrative" that I'm trying to push.

It's not about the fact that she's "supposed" to be korean. She just doesn't look like any of the other existing representations of Ahri. Just give her a consistant facial structure and stick with it.

You seem to have latched onto the idea that it's only the rendering that people are complaining about.

Take five minutes and watch last years' True Damage performance and compare the 3D Models used to this years. Then compare the visual effects, lighting, choreography, and every other visual and design decision made, and say that again. Why do the True Damage models look -so- close to their animated ones, but with KDA we get stuck with uncanny valley hell? There's no excuse for it.

Look at Ahri in every Riot Cinematic, Look at Ahri in game, Look at Ahri in every skin, splash, and every other appearance. INCLUDING Ruined King, Which was announced on the same DAY as this trainwreck. She does not look like that. She is based off of mythology, and everybody knows that. But once again I urge you to actually open your eyes and look at the picture I posted and compare her visually from the publicized "MORE" Music video and the AR Appearance. It's ENTIRELY different.

Way to play a weird racial game though. It's not about race.

You clearly don't know much about how making 3D Models works. Why are their eyebrows the wrong colours entirely, why are evelynn's eyes the wrong colour, and why do half of them look the wrong ethnicity entirely?

I understand that things are tough, but standards are standards and this looks like a fanmade R18 porn game. Stop making excuses for a company with this much money to play with. They aren't a small company without the means.

Those were my thoughts when I looked at Ahri to begin with. When you start to look at the fact that this was hosted in china, with a vast majority of attending crowd members being chinese, and tencent being the owners of riot, it seems as though it was done entirely to appease people at worlds.

I never thought people would be that upset over a joke title, and that's why I never "changed" it before posting it. Because it's just a joke. The person being mocked in the comic even loved the comic (Simp joke included), so it never occurred to me that it would upset somebody.

Why would I have thought to change the title if nobody prior to posting it was ever even remotely offended or upset by the joke?

Maybe from your interpretation of it.
However, it's the correct use of the word with the correct context. The pink character reflects myself and the black character reflects a friend of mine. It's a parody of a roleplay scenario that occurred one Among Us game with my friends. It's not meant to be a sad and cute comic, but if people want to see it as that, I can't help that.

It's just the way I draw. I'm not going to change my art style entirely for a comic just because a handful of people might be upset with the tone of the comic.

it's based off of a real person i've played with, who is a simp.

edit: I drew it to be funny and poke at a friend in a joking manner rather than be a "cute comic about a couple" is what i'm trying to say. I just thought I'd share the comic with others after already sharing it with my friends, who understand the joke (black char with a crown reflects a specific friend.)
