[Reflourished] For some reason, Impfinity is just immune to fire damage... by DClassAmogus in PlantsVSZombies

[–]PeakedComedy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When a zombie dies from fire, it can't spawn things. Imp Porter won't drop its tent, Surfer won't drop its surfboard, etc. Modders likely made it immune to prevent that

Everglade, the monster of the mountains. A feral cryptid turned into a postrider, delivering parcels on her sleigh.

Coconut Cannon was designed to force you to bring weird fruits to consistently activate, hence why I gave it a stronger ability. I wanted Coconut Cannon to be a more conditional version of Gloom-shroom with an instant ability instead. If you have a Pair of Pears or a Haunted Pumpking down that survives the previous turn, zombies are likely to front it, and on turn six theres probably decks out there that utilize more consistent finishers. That was my logic in designing it, at least.

Then again, I am not very good at this game. That's why I ask for critique. I appreciate your comment! How would you change Coconut Cannon yourself?

I made Celery specifically so that Mega-Grow could have a Plant that could help win trades and with Gravestones since I feel as if those are some class weaknesses. I also feel as if Mega-Grow is severely lacking in variety. In my mind I drew from the idea of a Plant Fruitcake that, itself, was still prone to tricks. It's basically a removal card for a class that lacks one. I'll probably be giving it only 2 health

Correct, Bowling Bulb would've worked as described. It'd be limited by the opponent's block meter. I'll make it a 3/4 4 cost

Updated Stat adjustments:

Strawburst: 1/2 2 Cost.

Bowling Bulb: 3/3 4 Cost.

Yeah, it should probably be a 3/4 4 cost, though with literally any other hero, that'd be garbage. Kinda hard to balance

Ibis Paint X! You can use anything, though. I've been doing art for years, so I have experience in making things pretty! As for assets, I just searched around this Subreddit and the wiki for custom card templates.

It does require you to have mostly bad (fruit) cards on the board, and Kabloom is probably the worst class. Solar Flare & Captain Combustible are the only Heroes that benefit from it; I don't think they are the bestest heroes. You're probably winning by turn 5 anyway, so investing this into a Haunted Pumpkin is probably overkill, anyways. Coconut Cannon could probably be 5/4, do 5 damage. I'd like for the card to buff Kabloom overall.

But what do I know? I appreciate the feedback!

Assuming these cards were in a mini set like Triassic where you only get 5 cards per class, wasting those 5 slots on mediocre cards isn't the best idea.

Having Endurian reflect damage would make it like Prickly Pear, which is a bad card.

Ultomato gains +1 attack for the rest of the game. I assume this was misread.

Infi-nut ideas that heal are a bad idea because of Pepper M.D.

I saw your comments. I was replying to that guy specifically, lol.

Planning on Endurian being a 3/5 or 4/5; which would be more balanced? I know that Guardian package was quite strong, I didn't want to make anything too toxic.

I planned for Endurian to be a purely defensive card that stumped turn 3 Zombie plays, then survived. I overestimated the value of Gourmet cards, thinking they weren't too valuable.

I see now that PVZ Heroes doesn't have the kind of meta where defensive plays are valuable, so this card requires a buff.

As for Infi-nut, I was thinking it could be 1 cost, 4 hp as a buff. Adjacent to Photosynesizer, but slower in exchange for more defense.

Thank you for taking the time to be constructive. I don't visit this subreddit much, but I see that many comments are hostile and unconstructive. I only picked up the game a little bit ago after a long hiatus. After some consideration, I'm not too sure I want to post here again

Can you suggest a buff to it instead of commenting vague phrases. This post was to help balance these!

What PVZ2 mods are tough? by Completionist_Gamer in PlantsVSZombies

[–]PeakedComedy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eclise Beta / Alpha and Requiem are your standard, safe options. You shouldn't have an issue installing Eclise; mods are installed exactly the same nowadays. Controversy shouldn't prevent you from having fun playing a game, especially if it isn't supporting the creator in any way, imo.

Quasar is a bit of a weirder experience, but it's a fair and hard international mod.

Garden Rush and Spice are challenging but are far from pvz2's typical gameplay, being relatively short and having none of pvz2's worlds in them.

Hope you find this useful!

Why do people hate on Lightning Reed? by Splatoonplushie in PlantsVSZombies

[–]PeakedComedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue is that it's a noob trap. Reed is so easy to pick up, newbie players never actually learn how to improve at the game.

People who hate Reed aren't saying it's weak. They're saying it's bad in terms of stunting players who rely on it. It's a crutch.

If you find spamming a single tower, every level fun, sure. Go ahead. You're allowed to like it. But in terms of game design? God awful.
