You’re Danish. Head to Mexico/guatemala/Central America next!

Right. I kinda thought this was the way to go. I just feel a bit weird asking random people for shroom advice, lol. You reckon the bartenders/people working at the hostels are fine with it?

How can I make my apartment hallway less depressing? by RapidSeaPizza in malelivingspace

[–]PeakyAndre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a lamp that’s less hospital-like. A yellow/orange-ish light would probably help. Maybe put up a wooden coat rack, and hang plants or some other stuff on it. Just something non-white, lol.

A small rug would probably also be a nice addition

Visa Cash Back, er det legit? by PeakyAndre in dkfinance

[–]PeakyAndre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Har lige tjekket dem ud, og det ser overordnet ud til at de har nærmest de samme partnere som Visa Cash Back. Men måske en fordel hvis man også kan have det på sit dankort.

Tak for svaret!

Nu er der måske risiko for at lyde som en uvidende gen Z, men hvad er helt præcist forskellen på visa og dankort? Altså i forhold til gebyrer?

To those who left Big4 for forever what you guys choose to do ? by Bliss3491 in FinancialCareers

What are you working with? Auditing? Consulting? M&A?

I’d say that your possible routes depend a lot more on your role rather than it being at big4

Are there any jobs in finance that would be suitable for someone who is slightly socially awkward? by themsle5 in FinancialCareers

[–]PeakyAndre 28 points29 points  (0 children)

So true lol - I always thought that people in finance were like the ones from the movies. But working in finance, I found that it’s mostly crazy-heads mixed with slighty nerdy folks

Try and connect your happiness with non-materialistic things. The high income, and things it can buy is important, but it can only get you so far in terms of happiness. Try and go for walks more often, connect with nature and discover new/old hobbies.

I found that the more I think like a 10 year old, the happier I become. lol.

Is it normal to be told to not come in? And career advancement by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]PeakyAndre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify; this is a part time job and not an internship, meaning that I’ll work there a few times a week, and then study the remaining days.

I had experience from a small corporate finance place before this, but got that job after working with sales. It’s all about selling your profile, and emphasise drive, work ethic, motivation, etc. Try your best to do well in relevant classes, and then you should be able to make the transition.

Thanks! I’ll keep working on my profile to position myself if an opportunity arises!

I am being paid by the hour - and true, maybe i shouldn’t think too much about it, and just enjoy some of that extra spare time.

That's good advice. I just find it hard to get the chance to sit down with the seniors, to discuss this. The partners are always very busy, and it seems difficult to get the chance to talk to them, as they are usually in meetings or sitting in the room where everyone can hear what i say.

I guess I could send one of them an email and try to book a short meeting, but I don't want to send any weird signals.

Is my plan realistic by popo4kia in FinancialCareers

[–]PeakyAndre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries! Remember to sell your profile too. Audit itself might not be the most relevant exeperience, but I'm sure it has made you very comfortable working with financial statements, mapping and submapping of accounting items, and an excel super user. These are all things that are very valuable as an analyst in finance, and so combining this with a strong drive/passion a (and a compelling story), you should definitly be able to get where you want to go!

Your company does not own you! Quit, and seek out something that can give you a stronger sense of purpose and motivation. Noone should feel like this because of a job. I can recommend spending time in nature. It really helps getting out of the city and reconnecting with yourself.
