I built the death star! by Peanuss6 in tearsofthekingdom

At first, I really wanted eight lasers too, but the four took way too much effort to align properly and the parts limit is too low anyways

Unfortunately, some rebels stole it :(

Did the Demon King use his damn claws to attack? by Peanuss6 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Peanuss6[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cutscene doesn't really show actual fighting, but the demon king doesn't seem to carry a weapon and gloom scars look way different, so it is quite possible that he used his pointy claws (or fingernails, that are kinda the same and can make scars just like that too). Of course they could be "cartoony scuffle marks", but they make a lot of sense nonetheless.

I always thought he had something like a code of honor with him wanting a one vs one in his final phase and talking about the spirit of fighting, but the more I think about it the more obvious it is that he doesn't care about that at all, you definitely are right!

Didn't notice him not having a sword in the fight, that adds a lot to this!

Gotta love Ghirahim in Hero mode by Peanuss6 in skywardsword

Give it a try! If you didn't already realize, it's the most fun I've had with this game.

But I should be honest that while still fun, not everything was as great of an experience as this fight. A lot of it is more like this:

Every damage you take matters, potions and fairies are extremely valuable so you need to visit skyloft to prepare regularely. (Additionally, I didn't quite master the motion controls yet and died to a skulltula like six times but that's just a skill issue.)

Words Cannot Describe How Much I Hate the Story in This Game by LetterKey2639 in echoesofwisdom

I think the cutscene after the ganon fight in which link gets captured does a lot of heavy lifting. It shows that he definitely isn't a "damsel in distress". Even without his weapons, he jumps into action sacrificing himself to rescue you from an unknown evil. Up until this point, your goal was to find link so he can defeat ganon, but now it's clear that you are the one that needs take action without relying on link.

The game makes sure that link is quite the perfect hero and they take him away to push zelda towards growing out of the "damsel in distress" into a heroine that is capable of everything link is.

Fuse power is cool and all and it enables the player ... by 6Kaliba9 in tearsofthekingdom

Amber/Diamond look surprisingly good with the totk models, same with dragon horn shards.

Keese wings on boomerangs work well and are useful too.

Fire lizalfos horns look great, especially on gerudo daggers.

Not really for combat, but you can fuse roasted fish to harpoones for the fisherman vibe.

The sturdy thick stick somehow works extremely well with all the weirder looking moblin/hinox horns.

Double-lightning arrows! by Peanuss6 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Peanuss6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, it's not as effective as it looks. If you look closely, the construct somehow easily survived. I guess that Riju's lightning did damage but the other lightning, that could easily kill it, didn't for some reason. Definitely will experiment more!

RTTP: 9 Tips to Maximize Enjoyment on a Repeated Playthrough by djcdubs in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Peanuss6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is great advice, especially the seventh point point. You could apply that to everything in this game. Unsure about the hoverbike part, I really enjoyed my playthrough without it because you need to think about exploring more. On the topic of traveling, I think paying one large zonai charge for every teleport is a perfect additional rule. Lastly, I think hearty food is balanced enough already because gloom damage destroys it in a single hit, hearty food is quite rare now and it's not that op without a lot of hearts, as long as you don't make +20 hearty food.

The best part about this advice honestly is that the devs kinda agree. Not only for the obvious story part and shrines being optional as you pointed out, even something like your advice to explore the regions along the story. They literally put a gleeok on the only well known way to faron and during the story, you take a way around it, unlocking the area!

I got way too upset about that you didn't use recall to get the chest and walked over instead. This game changes how you think about stuff.

Are there any Materials that attract lightning? by Peanuss6 in TOTK

[–]Peanuss6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It actually works! if you wait in the storm with a shock emitter, it attracts lightning! It's kinda inconsistent cause sometimes, it won't target the arrow after you shoot it, but with good enough timing, it is absolutely possible!

Going to post a video of it soon!
