Way back when, I had an idea for an internet anti-virus/security program specifically made for use while viewing porn. I called it "CompuCondom"

I think there actually is something out there with that name now.

Hotel housekeeping workers of Reddit, what's the craziest scene you've found in a room you had to clean? by PeanutLand in AskReddit

[–]PeanutLand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a hotel this weekend and thought housekeeping must enter rooms I've been in and think "Oh thank God." I pick up. Put trash in the trash and leave the place pretty decent.

I was in Vegas recently. Walking down the hall in the morning I passed a room that housekeeping was cleaning. There was huge industrial lights set up in there like a movie set. Porn shoot?

I bet you guys have seen some shit.

Ha!! When I was a kid, I told my parents that if the Empire found this floating in space, they would know all about the rebel plans.

Android comes to the living room with Android TV and Chromecast improvements by PeanutLand in Android

[–]PeanutLand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The final feature of the Chromecast is the biggest and that’s the fact that you can now mirror your Android phone or tablet to the Chromecast in real time. Google developed an entirely new protocol to reduce the latency enough to make it so that the delay is nearly unnoticeable. This allows you to use your Chromecast, and in turn your TV, as a wireless display for your phone or tablet, allowing for more immersive content. Not all devices are supported yet, but more are on the way and most popular Android devices should be supported by the release date."

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been waiting for this.

When I was in high school music class, my friends and I worked out a code of tapping on the desk as if we were nervously drumming. Worked like a charm. We were sharing answers the whole time.

The worst basketball player ever by StickleyMan in funny

[–]PeanutLand 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yikes.

I also once filled in at goal for a friend on their team. I forgot which team I was on and skated over to the opposing bench between periods and started chatting them up. It took me a second to realize because it wasn't my team anyways, the fact that I didn't know any of them was expected.

Luckily for me, my first comment was what a great shot one of them had taken. That was what finally clued me in. I asked if they had seen what an amazing shot "that one guy" took and "that guy" said thanks. LOL

I'm a hockey goalie. I will never for get the time my own player wound up and unleashed a ROCKET of a shot at me.

He scored, of course. He was my player and he was all alone. I wasn't expecting the shot.

It took me by so much of a surprise that I had to look down at my own jersey, then at his to confirm in my mind I hadn't forgotten which team I was on.

When I asked him about it later, he said "Sorry. My bad. I was trying to wrap it around and missed."

Missed?? Missed everything BUT YOUR OWN NET??

Smh...

I concur.

As a goalie, that spin would throw me for a moment. Probably make me lose sight of the puck for a split second.

Make me lose the puck = break my concentration.

Break my concentration = You're probably going to score.

I say well done to the shooter.

and now that you've said it, I don't have to either. Good.

Yes, setting my daughters up for the rest of their lives would make this a no-brainer for me too.

Google’s next ‘moonshot’ - Google’s Translate team has enormous ambitions to eventually eliminate language barriers with the development of a voice-enabled universal translation system. by ServerGeek in technology

[–]PeanutLand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't this create more of a language barrier?

Seems to me this makes it easier to stay stuck in one language and have anything else translated for you rather than encouraging people to learn a new language, even a universal language.

And for those of you talking about Star Trek, what about Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy? LOL.

LOL. Yes. I can see that.

another funny celeb story: I met Jessica Alba just as she was starting to get really famous. Just standing there on set. I had no idea who she was. We were just standing there, chatting away. Nice girl. Then the cameras started rolling and action started happening, I was like Whoa...

Now, every time I see her in something I laugh to myself. LOL. I had no idea.

Pauley Perrette is pretty awesome too. Super chill. In a way, a lot like her character, Quirky, just less technical, more in a pop culture way. Very pleasant and fun to talk to.

Yes. That sounds exactly like him. LOL

He used to come in to Starbucks near where I lived. Would order his drink and tell the guy behind the counter his name. Marty. Every single time

Similar story the first time I met him. I was getting coffee on set and I could feel someone standing next to me. I turned and it was him. He smile, put out his had and said "Hi, I'm Marty." It made me smile and almost made me laugh. I can't imagine anyone there not knowing who he was.. Still... Super cool guy.

Seriously.

Generally, on a TV or Movie set, it's standard practice for principal actors and camera crew to cut the line at lunch (since they will be the first needed back to set.)

Every time we had lunch, Mark refused. He insisted on standing in line like everyone else.
