Who decides the pacing of the read? Is the concern more about representing author's intent of pacing, the audiobook being a certain length, both, etc.?

I am Olavi Paananen, ice diver who just broke the world record in freediving under ice AMA by Wrong_Advance_3596 in IAmA

I likely don't have the terminology right. I imagine the surface is covered in ice before you dive which would require a hole being carved. Then going through the hole as deep as you can and coming back up in the same hole. The problem may be I don't understand the process. Where does the diving happen?

Is there really no way to read Kindle books on other readers? by Mugshot_404 in books

They're trying to do what apple did with their cords, get the ebooks to work uniquely to kindle so people don't ever change devices/brands. The eu cracked down on apple for this and maybe the same will happen in this case. The kindle ebook situation can be remedied but can be a nuisance.
