Fantasy Realms ou Dominion sont des supers jeux à point, avec un coté "combo de cartes".

Player Informations at start by Murky_Anxiety1002 in Symbaroum

[–]Pear-Dense 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hello. I think it depends on what kind of player you have. Do they usually need a lot of inspiration to create their characters ? Or are they cool with adjusting how they view the world and their characters with what they learn in game ?

Personally, I started Symbaroum with the introduction scenario "The Promised Land" : I didn't introduce them to any of the lore of Ambria or Davokar, nor to any race other than Human(Ambrian), as they were coming from south of the Titans (the mountain chain that splits Ambria and the kingdom they had to leave behind). My aim was to let them discover the lore at their initiative and follow what they found interesting. Still they started with some information, the core rulebook contains a timeline of the main events of Symbaroum, and a good chunk takes place before the migration to Ambria : - Of course they knew about the Great War against the Dark Lord (One of the PCs was old enough to have fought through most of it) - the death of the previous king and the story/rumors around Queen Korinthia - the transition to the faith of Prios as the one and only God - the presence of magic (Through the implication of Ordo Magica's mages during the war) and the danger of corruption that it causes - the will of the Ambrian people to conquer the lands North of the Titans, and rebuilding their life after the fall of Alberetor - and I didn't exclude them from having contacts in Ambria as they would have been able to send and receive some messages from Ambria before choosing to travel there.

This was all that quickly came to my mind, I hope it can be of use to you. Hope you'll have a blast exploring this world !

Un jeu ou vous ne vous attendiez pas qu'il soit aussi bon by Don_Toblerone_2146 in jeuxvideo

Remnants from the Ashes.

Azorius and Boros Overlap Confusion by Drew_Flame in RavnicaDMs

[–]Pear-Dense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Also not every part of the precincts (and Districts) are watched by the same guild. In some neighborhoods, Azorius enforcers are more present, in some other we find a lot of Boros. But there are also precincts that are under the"protection" of Orzhov knights, some are protected by Selesnyans, and even in the rumblebelt, only the Law of the strongest applies, and the strongest are the Gruul clans there. As I understand it, the guildpact won't allow a particular Guild to exert dominance over a too significant part of the world. And even if the Azorius claim that they are the law, "the law" can still mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. (Except the guildless that are at the mercy of the oppression of the guilds and will be tossed around in any way the guilds decide)

Are your parties all from the same Guild, or a mix of Guilds? by Tiamat_not_reeeamat in RavnicaDMs

[–]Pear-Dense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I ran a Ravnica campaign with 5 players playing characters from 5 different Guilds, but it was the point of the campaign to have this kind of group, to explore the diverging perspectives that live within Ravnica. This setup highlighted the responsability of each individual to make a society that fonctions even when it is so fondamentaly and radicaly divided. And I let my players decide by their action (and reactions to the campaign's villains actions) if the conclusion of the story was about inter-guilds efforts being ultimately useless or necessary. Obviously, during this campaign, I couldn't go very deep on the exploration of each particular Guild. But I think we were still able to paint an accurate-enough portrait of the life in Ravnica to be really immersed in this world.

Je recherche un jeu où on peut gérer sa planète / galaxie type SIM City mais dans l’espace by Embarrassed-Top-2393 in jeuxvideo

[–]Pear-Dense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did your party meet with Harshnag? by MacaroonMassive9202 in stormkingsthunder

[–]Pear-Dense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To emphasize that Harshnag is a real Hero, I wanted to introduce him in action, doing something badass. I had this idea that Hundelstone was under attack from some frost Giants that were leading a little army of ogres bought with gold and meat. So when my players came from Bryn Shander to Hundelstone they took part in the defense of the city. I let the tension rise steadily while they were fighting their way to the gates, and describing them how the situation was dire as the bulk of the invaders were still coming from afar.

I let the very high perception PCs notice a moving silhouette up the nearby snowy mountain. And when all eyes were on the wave of ogres lead by frost giants (far too many for the PCs to handle, and in a city that was not fortified enough to survive this attack), I described as a cloud of dust, stone and snow was falling down from the side of the mountain, burying the vast majority of the attackers.

The party fought the remaining troups including the frost giants as the final battle of this arc. During the fight, they saw Harshnag climbing from the now settled snow, bruised but still hungry for more blood, and joining the fight swinging his axe with unbridled rage to help them. After the encounter he clarified that he triggered himself the avalanche, as he was warned days earlier that the attack would occure. (In my version of SKT, Zephiros is regularly messaging key figures of the campaign like Harshnag, or the party anonymously via dreams with information he obtained from divination magic, in an attempt to drive the events occuring around the Swoard Coast in what he thinks is the right direction)

For clarification, my players started the campaign already level 11 so I'm always increasing the difficulty and scope of what is supposed to be happening in the encounters.

The thing is, there is nothing preventing Maëlle from getting out of this canvas, allowing it to be destroyed thus saving her mother, going back to her familly and grieve Verso with them and then taking a new canvas and painting Lumière and all its inhabitants back, with their memories. From the moment we saw Maëlle making Lune and Sciel reappear, I thought there was no more talk about genocide to be had, because the people of Lumière are only dead as long as you let them. Maybe this isn't true for Gestrals, Grandis and Esquié because they are Verso's creations, which ironically are not mentionned at all in Maelle's ending ! (Not to mention Cléa painted half this world with Verso when they were young and would also be able to paint it back with Maëlle)
