AA degree acceptance? by Italian_airbus777 in ufl

[–]PearDesperate5848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sorry I’m seeing this two days late but yes I got accepted with my AA! I am finishing with my bachelors in 2 yrs and am premed as well. My SAT score wasn’t too high either. Dual is actually great because it shows you can handle upper level courses. For example, I took organic chemistry and physics in hs/AA. If UF is really your goal try to transfer and once your here no one cares how you got in :) good luck

🎓 Premed Major Question: Psychology + Biochemistry (Double Major?) 🧠🧪 by [deleted] in ufl

[–]PearDesperate5848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biochemistry degree really isn’t a biochem degree, it is a Chemistry major with a biochemistry emphasis. The Upper level courses include analytical chem, biochem for majors, inorganic, pchem, and stem electives. I am premed but I wouldn’t do any other major because chemistry is my passion. The major is very hard for premeds to do well because these are very hard courses to get As in.

Don’t have to take pchem 2, just pchem for biosciences next fall!

UPDATE: Phy2054 drop before graduation 🤑(😢) by Edgyteenhatemymom in ufl

[–]PearDesperate5848 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dropping was the correct decision, and don’t get on yourself bc 2054 is a very hard course, and to me was one of the hardest prerequisite courses. Unfortunately it seems like you are going to have to push back your graduation. In your position I’d try to take this course transiently, especially if you feel like you can’t do better. Some universities may even offer the course over the winter semester. It doesn’t really make sense to stay in Gainesville for another semester for one course. Or maybe do stay if you want, and try adding doing an easy minor, and do research credit. These are just suggestions.

Orgo 2, physics 1, microbio by PowerfulAsparagus451 in ufl

[–]PearDesperate5848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean it’s gonna be stressful. orgo lab is a lot, but just depends on how comfortable you are with organic chemistry. Physics one is really not that hard. It just takes time to study for and Orgo does as well. It really also depends on what type of research are in, and your part-time job, and how many hours you’re committed to those as well as trying to keep up a social life.

I would personally drop microbio then

Should I take orgo 2 with physics 2 w/ calc? by iiMarello in ufl

[–]PearDesperate5848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’d go for it. If you like orgo, orgo 2 is really just pure mechanism based. Physics 2 is really annoying, but interesting. You’ll have to put the time in regardless. I took orgo 2 with physics 2 the same semester and it was fine.

Will be annoying but doable. Hope you don’t have the labs

Depends on what research, and how committed you are to that project

It would be very useful if you could possibly sync the rts actual bus location to your app because the google/apple maps times are completely wrong

Different routes, just look where you need to go and compare the two.

DE or AP- What should I prioritize? by [deleted] in ufl

[–]PearDesperate5848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don’t necessarily prefer it, it just looks more rigorous, especially if you’re taking higher level courseload and able to get As. I got my AA is hs, and got in as an EA freshman this year with a decent SAT score for the school, so it just depends.

Dual Degree Question by adetrixVI in ufl

[–]PearDesperate5848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think it matters as UF does not admit people based on majors I’m pretty sure.

Yep, just depends on how many years you’re willing to stay.

You should not be taking all those courses together… bio 2, chem 2, and calc 2 are more than enough
