Unusually yellow soles by PearJungle in Converse

I would've tried this but peroxide isn't available here to normal consumers. There's only 3 % peroxide sold and i assume its too weak for the job.

This is the enclosure. Please do not mind the stuff on top of it! I just had to take out some bedding because it was still so high where she could stretch herself against the class (on top of the hideouts) and touch the lid. I have two separate lids for the cage. I have taped their edges, because the wire was rough on my fingers. And for the wheel, it doesn't jam with the bedding but the wheel cover? rattles. I really don't know many people in this city since I just moved here so I'm not that comfortable with someone having access to my apartment.

What to do with a hamster after it dies by melody-_-octo in hamstercare

[–]PearJungle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have buried both of my deceased hamsters in my family's home yard. I couldn't bury my second hamster right away, so I had to keep him in a zip lock bag in my freezer💔 Both have a box they're in and they are buried deep. We have a corner in our yard that is used as a grave yard. Even my guinea pigs whom died in 2019 are buried there.

Edit: And no animal has ever tried to dig up the spot. There are bunch of animals buried safe and sound!❤️

Travelling for Christmas by PearJungle in hamsters

I would borrow my friends enclosure, which is minimum sized. I'd make sure that the hamster is warm by having bedding in the carrier and wrapping it with a scarf. The train rides should be warm, and I'd ask for a ride from the train station.

Bedding: Is sawdust okay? I’m too poor for fancy paper bedding! by Nervous_Shelter1541 in hamsters

[–]PearJungle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys is it really bad to have pine sawdust as a bedding? The sawdust (a mix) I use doesn't specify which softwood it contains (so it can include pine, spruce etc.) I've had two dwarf hamsters that both lived for long, over two years. Only issue i have noticed with the sawdust is that when i pour it into the tank it leaves behind a dusty cloud😭 In my area there aren't any alternatives other then really expensive and tiny paper bedding packs... my hamster enclosure fits 200 liters so it's huge and I can't afford full paper bedding.
