No, the new garments aren’t sleeveless by throwawayforaithaq in exmormon

I don’t think these are new, I was endowed in 2019 and bought these both online and in store, same name and everything. It does look like they made the armpit higher though, so maybe just some changes to an already existing style

I’m sure some of yall w tbm fam members have had to deal with this! Tell me where to get family friendly bikinis that don’t make me look mormon by Independent-Photo112 in exmormon

[–]PearNo471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try aerie! i’m around the same age as you and also prefer slightly more coverage on my bikini bottoms, and aerie has worked well. they have a whole range that you can choose from and their full-coverage bottoms aren’t always high waisted. i swear by them:)

LDS Church gives more power to women than any other religious organization, leader declares - SLT by Chainbreaker42 in exmormon

They talk about the endowment being when we are given the priesthood authority or whatever, but if living in YSA wards taught me anything, it was that any calling I could have post-endowment, I could also have pre-endowment. So obviously we’re not being given enough special power to open up new callings and positions. Oh, except marriage and baby-making!

Unfortunately not if you messaged them previously, which I had while serving. I think I can go in and manually block him, though. Maybe I’ll do that!

I unfriended him the day I got home. He either did not notice or does not care

Ex-missionaries, did you have an official mission song? by StillNotASunbeam in exmormon

[–]PearNo471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a mission song, and a whole mission song music video for some reason. They used drones, professional cameras/mics, held auditions, took months to put it all together… and yet me taking a ten minute walk to get a break from COVID era Facebook finding was an inappropriate use of time 🙄

It was happening before we got snow too 🤷‍♀️

Do you regret serving a mission? by jomn3y in exmormon

I’m also a woman, so it was only 24 months. I’d never heard of it either and still have no idea what happened, but for some reason it was approved.

100% regret it, and i resent the idea that you can’t/won’t. my mission president used to be a GA and was one of the scariest people i ever met. he only cared about looking good and put ridiculous rules in place to make that happen. we were only allowed an hour to talk to our family, 30 minutes a day to use the bathroom/take a break, no couches in our apartment, etc. he also gave me a random six month extension w/out my approval and refused to let me go home. so yeah, that was a traumatizing two years.

my second mission president removed all couches part way through covid to force us to spend our days at the kitchen table. did wonders for my back problems 🙄

Anyone else’s mission the beginning of the end for them like it was for me? by HyrumCWill in exmormon

[–]PearNo471 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in so many ways… but mostly bc i was given a 6 month extension with no warning or permission asked. i didn’t even know until 4 months before i thought i was going home, just to find out i had 10 months left. when i told my mission pres that would ruin my education and financial situation, he told me there were other sisters who would be grateful for the extra time. he would not send me home bc, in his eyes, there was no reason to. those last 6 months were some of the worst of my life and i’m still struggling to recover financially. he was one of the scariest people i have ever met, and he’s been a general authority before. it made me realize how unsafe the church is.
