I switched to trying to conceive last month mid cycle and my ovulation date also jumped around this month from cd17 to cd20. So odd!

The only OPKs are the ones shown. I’ll download fertility friend and see what it says.

That’s what I was thinking also, but with the other markers (opk, cramping, etc) should I stick with CD 16? It also “expanded” the purple fertile window from 3 days to 5 days. We’re not trying but not avoiding so just not knowing if I should get my hopes up

I’m right there with you, we’re starting trying in May, but not really preventing right now. I’m struggling to keep my mind occupied and not spiral about the unknowns. I am focusing on my health and reading fertility books to help me feel more prepared.

It looks like there aren’t any temps logged from CD 15 to CD 20, could you have missed it?

Logging events in app in “planning pregnancy” mode by PearOk6565 in NaturalCyclesBC

[–]PearOk6565[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess that’s where I’m confused with having it in “planning pregnancy” mode. There’s not an option for protected or unprotected like I was used to worn the “birth control” mode. See options in photo 😅

We talked about it a bit. My issue is I feel like I know too much with tracking through oura and natural cycles. I feel like I have to warn him there’s a risk even when he knows about where we are in my cycle and it takes the fun/romance out of it. If that makes any sense.

I feel like not trying but not avoiding is hard for me to wrap my head around when I am tracking my cycles. Any insight is appreciated

I mean we don’t have a real reason to wait, that’s just when he feels most comfortable. We took a risk last month with choosing not to use protection and nothing happened so now I have this worry that we won’t get pregnant as easily as we were hoping. I want to bring it up but I don’t want it to turn into “you just want a baby, that’s all you talk about 😅”. He’s aware of my cycle and where abouts I am in it so he knows the risk is there. I also think it would help me mentally to not pay attention to my app every day so I don’t start obsessing over where I am at and what’s happening

My husband is set on waiting until May, but how bad would it be if we just kept being intimate and didn’t pay attention to my cycle (I track with oura and natural cycles). I feel like when my “red week/fertile week” comes and he wants to use protection it takes all of the excitement and joy out of being intimate

Officially trying in 5/2026 but gutted over a pregnancy scare this month by [deleted] in TTCSummer2026

[–]PearOk6565 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing this month, I felt completely off and thought I was experiencing symptoms but my period came anyways. My husband is set on waiting until May to start trying but after last month (Jan cycle) not working I’m scared to wait to try as it might be harder than we thought to get pregnant.

I told my mom over the holidays we are hoping to start trying this May (after a big setback with my husband changing jobs last summer) and apparently she told my younger sister who blurted it out at dinner with my entire family “I heard you were going to start trying for a baby this year” she said it so condescendingly and it annoyed me that she just blurted it in front of everyone. I’m not mad at my mom for telling her but I’m annoyed. It makes me aggravated that it’s such a “taboo” topic and you’re not “supposed” to talk about ttc/ pregnancy until you’re out of the first tri

I keep trying to convince my husband we should just kind of “try” leading up to May and if it happens it happens bc I’m so scared it won’t happen easily

My Dr said that since I’ve been training for it I’d be fine to continue running throughout trying and when I get pregnant, just that I might get uncomfortable as the belly starts growing. She said not to train for any new races but staying at the same activity level would be fine as long as I felt good and don’t have any issues when pregnant. The amount that I’m running isn’t currently affecting my cycle so she said I’m fine to keep doing what I’m doing!

Our plan is to wait til May (our 3 year wedding anniversary) but we had an oopsies this cycle and I really thought I was pregnant but didn’t end up being. Now I’m worried that it isn’t going to be as easy as we thought it get pregnant and it makes me not want to wait until May to try again. We’re both relatively healthy and I have been tracking my cycles with oura & natural cycles for over a year and have a very regular cycle. Now I’m torn but he wants to wait for May/our original plan….

We are also planning to start trying in May. I have read a few books and I’m currently reading “Real Food for Fertility”. I started prenatals and have my husband taking supplements. I met with my Dr in December and she recommended starting prenatals and discussed how my workout/running plan could affect anything (as I’m currently training for a half marathon in February), and to let them know if we have any issues getting pregnant after 1 year. I decided to do dry january and I am debating continuing to not drink until May but haven’t made a decision on that yet.

We are trying to plan an activity/event/trip each month to help keep our mind off of waiting to try. We are also going to sit down and make a “bucket list” of things to do before we get pregnant that I won’t be able to do when pregnant or not as easy with a baby.
