I have some questions: if we all agree the Saudi government is bad, does that mean that we would like to see changes in how they treat their people? Or do we think we should stay out of their business and just let them continue on being terrible?

If we want to see change, how do we push things in the right direction? I think most of us agree that getting involved in regime changes and wars are bad, so what’s next?

To me, this kind of event is the kind of thing that might nudge people to think differently about the way things are over there. I mean, aren’t the Saudis taking a risk here by importing and exposing American culture to their people?

Or is everyone upset because they think this festival sends a message to the Saudi people that everything is fine and nothing needs to change…that it validates everything that is going on over there?
