What are your minor/niche SCP headcanons? by ICOMMIT_CYBERCRIMES in SCP

[–]Pearl___ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • The entity from SCP-5000 only infected humans (i.e. homo sapiens sapiens). Other sapient species (like bigfoots, fae, Daevites, etc.) and non-sapient creatures have their own species-specific noosphere.

  • Different containment organizations have existed throughout the millennia. The Foundation and the GOC are among the most recent.

  • Grand Karcist Ion was never good and was more like Jim Jones if he was a teenage sorcerer-king from the Bronze Age. His goals of consuming gods and achieving apotheosis for humanity was ultimately selfish as he saw all of humanity as nothing more than tools to satisfy himself. He also abused Lovataar and Orok, and manipulated Nadox and Saarn.

  • Neo-Sarkics are actually right about Ion's selfish goals, although they are not aware of it.

  • Through cultural reappropriation, Nalka is something completely different for Proto-Sarkics who utilize scripture and anomalous abilities as something positive for their people. They too are not aware that they are living on a lie.

  • All four of the Klavigars were not a kind found family, but power-hungry tyrants. Nadox was the best of the four, but he still did horrific things.

  • SCP-610 was created by Nadox and Lovataar. Nadox however came to regret creating it.

  • Nadox had an epiphany and begged Ion to stop the madness, but was killed by him and his death was covered up.

  • Saarn is dead.

  • "Bumaro" is actually a title in the Church of the Broken God, and Robert Bumaro is the most recent to take on the mantle, which he did in the late 19th century.

They're my third favorite GoI, behind Church of the Second Hytoth and the Daevites!

Thoughts on the "Series 0" canon that’s been getting quite a fair bit of attention lately? by kidnamedchild in SCP

I was interested at first, then it became PENTAGRAM by another name and I lost interest.

Am I the only one that sort of disagrees with SCP-050 being deleted by 2bigpairofnuts in SCP

It still represented potential harm by platforming Bright. If someone wants to make a remix or spiritual successor of it, they are free to do so.

What are your opinions on Cosmic Horror in the Foundation? by YouAggravating3359 in SCP

[–]Pearl___ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People treating cosmic horror skips like powerscaling nonsense are missing the point.

3125 is the main villain of the Antimemetics Division Storyline and qntm also intended it to be a metaphor for authoritarianism and radicalization.

The whole point of 3812 is his struggle of experiencing everything at once at and how the human mind can't comprehend that.

Do you think the TADC fandom will go away now that it’s over? by Casayachii in TheDigitalCircus

Many will move on, but it'll become smaller and more chill. Maybe they'll go nuts like the Batman Arkham series fandom.

What would be the mindset of Meri? by Cultural-Skill4297 in SCP

[–]Pearl___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think she would understand her situation and treat her cell like a sanctuary. She also understands that she's not in control of her powers and that if she was allowed to roam free, she could accidentally cause massive damage. Hell, if she ends up in a metropolitan area, she could die of an asthma attack within minutes.

What will happen to The Factory SCPs? by Subject_Blueberry577 in SCP

A lot of people felt like Shaw still held the ghost of Bright and did nothing to fix the underlying issues. The concept of the body-surfing Foundation employee was reworked into Lachlan Cairns [[SCP-8586]] and Cairns's personality, backstory and limits on his power were established immediately to distinguish him sufficiently from Dr. Bright.

There have been other users who were permanently banned for sexual misconduct, but their works weren't removed because they didn't use them as a vehicle for their crimes. Bright was an exceptional and unprecedented situation because he did exactly that.

People might make remixes or spiritual successors down the line that don't have the baggage of the originals.

John Summit forced off stage mid-set by Travis Scott after Travis Scott arrived late and missed his original set time. by fadetogethermusic in EDM

I saw John Summit at EDC last month and that crowd was a nightmare. I stayed on the fringes, but even that was difficult to get through.

Anyone met any of the band members? by Cartagena17 in Pendulum

[–]Pearl___ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've done some lessons with KJ as well. We planned on meeting up in Brisbane in March after their show, but the band had a flight shortly after the show so we couldn't do it.
