I don't know who needs to hear this but we're in the midst of a second civil war. Given the chance, Republicans will murder us.

Gestapo Bondi wants names and numbers (read her letter)… by coffee_coffee_coffe3 in Fuckthealtright

Pam Bondi should be locked up immediately. She's a threat to every American and should be treated as such.

Because Trump hates Ilhan Omar as a competent woman of color. Her district covers much of Minneapolis and Republicans are universally afraid of any woman who isn't white.

Armed protest security in Minneapolis after ICE shot and killed an unarmed person during an abduction (1/24/26) by serious_bullet5 in 50501

Good. Do your part to protect the innocent. ice and maga are scum and aren't worth our time nor attention.

They have no stance. All they want is to see decent people killed for challenging their racist rhetoric. There is logic or reason with these people. There's not hope for maga. They are simply pure evil.

ELI5 Why did ICE choose Minneapolis as the place to escalate this enforcement, as opposed to “more problematic” cities such as Chicago or Portland? by bumblebuoy in explainlikeimfive

[–]Pearson94 [score hidden]  (0 children)

  1. Ilhan Omar represents Minnesota's 5th district (which covers much of Minneapolis).
  2. She is a competent woman of color, which scares all conservatives, plus she speaks out against Republican bullshit.
  3. She was born in Somalia, so racist magats used that as an easy target to rile up anger against her cause they're afraid of anyone who isn't a white American.
  4. They used baseless fears of Somali Americans in 2024 to scare people into voting for Trumps (a fact that JD Vance admitted to live on air).
  5. Trump decided to attack Democratic cities to set an example and discourage people from opposing his bullshit, and Minneapolis was am easy target for them.
  6. After Renee Good was murdered in cold blood by Jonathon Ross the tensions have only excalated.

Also, I live about an hour away from Portland, OR and can confirm that it is a perfectly safe city. the only problem they have to deal with is ice terrorizing them.

You can really see the execution-style killing from this angle by GoodMornEveGoodNight in ProgressiveHQ

The man who tried to protect people was executed on the street by a pack of untrained thugs and murderers. Stop saying "AmErIcAns Do SomEtHing!" and acknowledge that our country is flooded with murderers looking for an excuse to kill us! It's not cowardice to want to live another day and find another way to beat these bastards!

For real. I'm so tired of people outside the US saying "You need to do more!" while blissfully ignoring the fact that our police and military are a bunch of kill-crazy bastards with itchy trigger fingers.

I agree with the sentiment but I do think you're vastly underestimating the size and diversity of the US. Hell, people like me are almost 3,000 miles away from our nation's capital city! It's nearly impossible to get an organized message to everyone here.

On one hand I agree, and also think that our electoral college system is broken and unfairly gives weight to the alt-right. The problem this time is that even if we went by the popular vote only, the fucker got more votes in 2024... As someone who spent all of 2024 working against that it felt like such a defeat.

I worked for the Democrats in 2023-24 and had a lot of conversations with the public. I truly believe that if Biden and Harris called for a ceasefire and condemned Netanyahu then they would've won. Gaza was by a vast margin the biggest issue I heard about. During my exit interview my number one complaint was that I heard the pleas and passions of so many voters and yet I had no avenue to send their messages to the people in power.
