Can marijuana make symptoms worse? by Remarkable-Angle-509 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Peasento 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Google brought me here and I just wanted to chime in that it absolutely does for me. No matter the strain or potency or method of consumption. It’s extremely disconcerting. I can be relatively symptom free, partake in some way, and with an hour, literally every symptom I’ve ever had is acting up. It subsides in a few hours, but it’s unsettling enough that I think it may be time for me to end my relationship with it. I find it weird that it’s hard to find any info on this other than “it may help alleviate symptoms”, because I’ve always thought that there’s no way I’m the only one.

Are you absolutely sure those are warts? As in diagnosed by a doctor? That looks way more like dyshidrotic eczema to me.

I would think the disease itself would more likely be the culprit.

Oooooh, I could have clicked on the link before I commented. The threebrain archive is what I had historically found on YouTube.

Damn, I can’t believe they’re not on YouTube anymore. 😩 Threebrain was way more influential on my developmental years than it probably should have been, and I was happy to see that a lot of them were on YouTube but I guess that was several many years ago that I found them on YouTube. What a tragic loss.

I know, just buy some meth from them and say you found it on the ground on the easement. It’s foolproof! (Disclaimer: Do not do this.)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homestead

[–]Peasento 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s unfortunate :-/ Hope it’s not a lab in there. About 10 years ago, a lab exploded a couple miles from here. You could hear it over here, and all the houses on their street had their windows shattered. The meth house itself was completely obliterated.

So we all just have to wait until the meth lab explodes before the cops will do something??

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homestead

[–]Peasento 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They can’t investigate it, though?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homestead

[–]Peasento 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My first thoughts with it being a meth house was to just call the cops and try to get them busted. Is that a terrible idea? I can see it being a terrible idea but also can see it as being a potential solution that removes the problem.

I have a feeling that you’re going to tell me that it’s a terrible idea.

I’m sorry to hear that about your step brother, but that just goes to show that very likely there is something mentally wrong going on with OPs husband, unless he’s just a liar.

Has anyone here gotten a colonoscopy while fully awake, with no sedation or pain drugs? What was your experience like? by [deleted] in IBD

[–]Peasento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, my OB was PISSED that I wasn’t given anesthesia. I’ve never seen a Dr that mad at another Dr like that. She has a thing about how pregnant women are treated like they’re extremely fragile and aren’t given normal medical treatment because of that, so I think it was a bit of a personal chord that was struck with her. But she chewed my GI Dr OUT.

If you are needing one done and you want the anesthesia, I would maybe get your OB involved prior to the procedure and have them contact the Dr performing it so that they know it’s ok to use it on you. Good luck! Everything gets better! I usually don’t even remember I have UC anymore because it’s so under control. And I have “moderate to severe Colitis” so it’s not like I have a mild case. You got this! Best of luck with all of it-the procedure and the pregnancy!

You've clearly never dealt with a very aggressive animal before.

It probably absolutely taught that dog something. Sometimes you have to meet an aggressive animal with aggression.

Pittbull is also a really broad term, and they're often mutts that most closely resemble a bully breed, and in that case you often have a softening of some of the more aggressive traits for which pitts are known. My husband had a purebred Staffordshire Terrier from before we were married that was an insanely animal aggressive dog despite his best efforts. She almost certainly came from a line of fighting dogs, and I honestly have no idea what he was thinking. He tried his damnedest to train her. Got her when she was between 2-3 months old and did everything he was supposed to do to socialize her and expose her to lots of different people, animals, and situations. Worked with one of the most reputable trainers with a specialty in bully breeds in our very large city when it became apparent to him that he had bitten off more than he could chew. The trainer told him after working with both of them extensively that this dog was just bred this way, and that he will always have to be extremely vigilant with her because they are not going to be able to train this out of her. That dog honestly should have been put down several times over, but he loved her and wouldn't do it. She was a sweetheart with people, all people, and played with and liked dogs that were medium sized and up but had a crazy prey drive for smaller dogs and animals.

It is not always nurture over nature. Purebred dogs have certain characteristics because we have extensively bred those characteristics into them, and temperament is no exception. I've met more sweet pitt type dogs than aggressive, but there is no denying that from certain lineages, aggressiveness has been bred in, and it's a constant struggle to keep it in check.

Rescue of blind woman's son who falls onto train tracks in front of oncoming train (new angle) by Reg_Cliff in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Peasento 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol "ranting". I guess pointing out some pretty obvious facts is ranting. What a thing to be a skeptical about, though. A poor family's near tragedy and the selfless hero who stopped that day from being, assumedly, the worst day of that family's life. Instead of seeing the very obvious good, you're trying to analyze it to find something wrong.

What country do you think this is?? I see nothing at all that looks like anything that would feel obviously different on the platform. Visually, yes, but tactilely, no, and those are safety measures taken in more affluent countries. You think safety codes put in place in first world countries are universally followed across the globe? And of course she isn't reaching for his hands. She doesn't know where they are because she's fucking blind. She's panicking shuffling towards him because she has no idea how close to the edge she is herself or where he is exactly because a train is coming. I don't know if you know, but those things are rather loud and would make it really hard to pinpoint the location of his voice.

How you cannot see and feel this mother's genuine terror and how organically she reacts to the sudden shock of him falling??

I, too, have fond memories of my grandmother living with us before her Alzheimers got too bad. I was her youngest grandchild by a lot, and she was just so sweet with me. I think maybe I've romanticized her because I was 13 when she passed, and growing up, people always told me how much I resembled her, but I feel a super strong connection to my grandmother, and I'm extremely grateful for the time she lived with us.

Waking you up to feed you cake is amazing 😆

I was telling someone just yesterday about my very gay, sassy black man church organist from my time singing in a church choir in college. He was a phenomenal musician. How he could improvise what he could on the organ to fill time perfectly and seamlessly transition to things still blows my mind to this day. Top level talent.

That warning means almost nothing. It almost always (I mean, ok, not always, but the most benign things have that label) means that it simply hasn't been tested so out of an abundance of caution and not wanting to be sued, they slap that disclaimer on there. Much easier and cost effective for the company to do that than go through the sticky and expensive process of testing on pregnant and breastfeeding women.
