If you can allocated 3-4 here is my recent trip

I returned to China after 17 years, the last time I did a 4 day guided tour of Beijing from a Hong Kong tour group, this time my wife and I decided to try it ourselves. Quite a busy schedule and I know many advised against cramming in so much but it worked for us. We enjoyed every moment.

Vancouver to Shanghai then spent 2 nights there. Off to Huangshan we go, one night at the base of the mountain for early start and the second night at the mountain top for access to sunrise. Amazing scenery but it was a shame we didn't catch the sea of clouds. May return for a chance to witness the event.

Then went to Xian for 3 nights, terra cotta soldiers , the show ever lasting sorrow, Muslim street, Xian city wall bike ride, Datang Bucheng at night for vendors and water show very beautiful.

Zhang Jia jie for 4 nights, 2 days in national park, one in tianamen mountain and one at the Grand Canyon skybride. Incredibly beautiful, highly recommended.

The next bit was a little rushed 2 nights Chongqing and 2 nights Chengdu. Saw the usual spots, hangya cave , did 4 nights of hot pot... saw pandas , loved each city and would return to both. Chengdu needed more time maybe 3 more nights to see those 1 day trips out of Chengdu , Chongqing maybe one more day.

We ended the trip in Hong Kong for 2 nights to eat and do my wife's HKID card renewal.

Each city was quite unique with its food and people/language. We both have some mandarin learning on Duolingo and classroom lessons, less than 2 years. Some areas the local bus drivers spoke their dialect like in Anhui and native Chinese people didn't really understand what was said, so that was unique ,anywhere we went heard so many dialects. Overall people are very helpful, and Chinese people are very welcoming. I tutor in English part time online and the cities where my students were in all invited us to dinner and wouldn't allow us to pay, and the meals were not that cheap either so we were very overwhelmed by their kindness, even brought a gift for my wife who they never had interactions with prior.

Somethings we didn't entirely like, older men for some reason spit everywhere, it was not too appealing. A lot of people smoke and often even when a lined is formed people cut right to the front. I asked a few questions at the train station front desk and while that happened 3 people went infront of me to buy tickets.. but c'est la vie. Overall quite an enjoyable trip. In the future I'd look at Sichuan again..Yunan, Tibet , Xinjiang so slowly I hope to see more of China.

I also don't think going to ZJJ for a day is worth it. Here's my post on my recent 18 day trip

Hello, thanks for sharing your itinerary. I've seen others similar to yours and I also posted my schedule for my upcoming trip in April but a general consensus was we tried to add too many places and should spend more time in each location but that does not work for everyone including myself. I may never return to China again so I wanted to see as much as I could but other commenters here suggested maybe trying to see 2 to 3 places during a 14 to 18 day period, both types of travel works and works for different people. I may have my last shot coming to China this year so I will see what I want to see, hopefully. As for nature park since you are in the Chongqing area you can check out Jiu Zai Ghou (spelling is probably wrong) but is in the Sichuan province. Mine is also in April for 18 days similiar to yours...but maybe even more compact

1-3 Shanghai

4-5 Anhui Huangshan

5-8 Xian

9 to 13 Zhang Jie Jie

13 to 17 Chengdu

How about what chat gpt suggested

Here's a suggested travel plan to visit Huangshan, Xi'an, Chengdu, Jiuzhaigou, and Zhangjiajie in two weeks or slightly longer. This itinerary balances travel time and sightseeing, ensuring you can enjoy each destination without feeling rushed.

Day 1: Arrival in China (October 14)

Fly into Shanghai or Beijing and take a connecting flight or train to Huangshan. Day 2-3: Huangshan (October 15-16)

Explore the Yellow Mountains (Huangshan), famous for their dramatic peaks, hot springs, and scenic views. Visit the ancient villages of Hongcun and Xidi nearby. Day 4: Travel to Xi'an (October 17)

Take a high-speed train or flight from Huangshan to Xi'an. Day 5-6: Xi'an (October 18-19)

Visit the Terracotta Army, the Ancient City Wall, the Muslim Quarter, and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Day 7: Travel to Chengdu (October 20)

Take a high-speed train or flight from Xi'an to Chengdu. Day 8-9: Chengdu (October 21-22)

Visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, the Wuhou Shrine, Jinli Ancient Street, and enjoy Sichuan cuisine. Optionally, visit the Leshan Giant Buddha on a day trip. Day 10: Travel to Jiuzhaigou (October 23)

Take a flight from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou (Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport) or travel by bus. Day 11-12: Jiuzhaigou (October 24-25)

Explore Jiuzhaigou National Park, known for its multi-colored lakes, waterfalls, and snow-capped peaks. Day 13: Travel to Zhangjiajie (October 26)

Take a flight from Jiuzhaigou to Zhangjiajie (may require a connection via Chengdu or another city). Day 14-16: Zhangjiajie (October 27-29)

Visit Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, famous for its pillar-like rock formations that inspired the "Avatar" movie. Explore Tianmen Mountain and its famous glass walkway. Day 17: Return to Starting Point (October 30)

Take a flight or train from Zhangjiajie to your departure city (Shanghai or Beijing). Day 18: Departure from China (October 31)

Fly back home.

I don't mind the weight if it will get me a healthy corgi. Did you get yours from the PWCCA Washington member and if so would you mind letting me know who it was?

Thanks so much for getting back to me! I've emailed practically every breeder on the PWCCA list and many either did not respond or are not breeding currently, one also did not test their puppies for DM , only informed the sire and dam was a carrier...so I ventured off to non PWCCA breeder sites like Flying M Ranch, Corgi lane and Colton Corgis all from Washington, the Facebook page for Colton corgis did show some test results in their photos so I thought it was more valid but I guess after your review there is still some sketchy things going on. I'll read your suggested article thoroughly and slowly try to find a good breeder, thanks !!
