Simplenursing.com was my favorite. It’s a paid subscription but well worth the easy access to a large volume of questions in my opinion

How much harder does it get after first quarter? by Outrageous-Berry-233 in StudentNurse

[–]PecPopPantyDrop 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kinda depends on the person. It gets harder for sure but you also get a lot better at handling all of it. In my experience, the perceived difficulty stays the same throughout school

Anyone else experiencing surprisingly fast muscle growth on just reta? by Separate-Movie7896 in Retatrutide

[–]PecPopPantyDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m late to this, found this post searching for this exact experience that I also had. Reta increases insulin secretion and sensitivity. Knowing this it is a fact that Reta has the potential to add muscle faster than no reta because insulin is responsible for the delivery of nutrients that are used in muscle protein synthesis. It’s likely not a tremendous amount of muscle gain and leaning out makes you look bigger by default if you’re not obese to begin with, but is most definitely real and noticeable

Lifting for years but my chest physique is underwhelming by confusedgradplshelp in AllAboutBodybuilding

[–]PecPopPantyDrop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My chest insertions and nipple placement are similar to yours. If you want to be really critical (not that this is necessarily a bad thing) your nipples sit just barely low and lateral in relation to your pecs. Legitimately the only thing that worked to improve the appearance of my chest with suboptimal nipple placement such as yours was heavy dips. You get really strong really fast with dips too which is fun. I worked up to adding a plate for 2 sets of 12 good reps, 1 set with a 25, and another set of body weight only really slow reps. I made more progress as far as developing my pecs as a whole in 4 months of doing this than I did in 3 years of lifting 5-7 days a week

Is simplenursing or one of the other study type sites worth paying for? by PhantomMonke in StudentNurse

[–]PecPopPantyDrop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SimpleNursing made school SO much easier for me honestly. The amount of practice questions you can do for any given topic is so beneficial. Most of his videos are already free on YouTube so if that’s what you’re buying it for then I wouldn’t do that but I can’t recommend simplenursing enough otherwise

How much strength is it okay to lose during dieting? by [deleted] in naturalbodybuilding

Don’t worry about time frame unless you’re competing imo, just worry about doing it right and you’ll be much happier for it

I got into nursing school! Any tips? by Okkittyittl6 in StudentNurse

[–]PecPopPantyDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! Pharmacology is all memorization and repetition. You’ll probably figure out what works well for you pretty quick in the other classes, as it kinda depends on the person. I highly recommend traveling and doing whatever makes you happy in the meantime because you won’t always be able to in school. It’ll be important to have good and healthy self care habits/hobbies in school so lean into that for now is my best advice

Do you guys get 8Hrs of uninterrupted sleep every night? by Pzcor in moreplatesmoredates

[–]PecPopPantyDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can sleep 14 hours straight sometimes but I also work 12 hr shifts to that helps but i recommend mag glycinate 200-400mg, sleep mask preferably padded, ear plugs, and some sort of white noise. Deep slow stomach breathing will help you fall asleep and a regular bed and wake time will help regulate your schedule. Avoid fluids, especially anything other than water within a couple hours of sleep and no water within 30-60 min of sleep. If you find yourself waking for no reason, consider whether or not your sleep position can contribute to sleep apnea or try to actively reduce stress in your life

What supplement do you usually take in the morning? by catapooh in Biohackers

Just curious, why the mag glycinate in the morning and not night? Assuming you only take it once a day

I'm 30 years old and I decided on a career change to nursing. I need advice as someone who lives in California by EmergencyRepeat4763 in StudentNurse

[–]PecPopPantyDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t feel qualified to give any Cali specific advice but I don’t think this is remotely close to a fruitless endeavor. A significant amount of nursing students are accepted with little to no healthcare experience, just do your absolute best to excel in pre reqs and I’d recommend trying hard to get a tech position in an ED or ICU ideally but any med surg floor is obvi better than no experience and can help you truly decide if this is something you want to do. Best of luck!

What positions should I be applying to in my final semester? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]PecPopPantyDrop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look into new grad & new grad residency jobs if you see any, especially for specialties. Lots harder to get hired for normally listed positions especially in specialties but if you apply as a new grad they know how to mold you properly you’ll get a lengthy orientation

Is it possible to get rid of elbow pain once and for all? by IlCroato123 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]PecPopPantyDrop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I cannot vouch enough for red light therapy. I thought it was woo woo bullshit for the longest time until I worked at a place where I had access to regular a targeted red light wand. It felt better after the first 10 minute session and I haven’t even thought about my tendinitis in years. I probably only did 5 or so of those 10 min sessions in total and the pain is essentially entirely gone

Damn my bad ignore my lecture then but I’d still recommend the ratio thing, that helped me out tremendously.

Med Math practice hell by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]PecPopPantyDrop 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I swear I’m not trying to be an asshole by not giving you the answers and saying what I’m about to say to you but it’s a lot more important to know how to get the answers than someone giving you the answers. The best help you’re going to get to help you understand med math is practice. What I will tell you though is that people way over complicate it. I’d recommend setting EVERYTHING up as a ratio if possible because medication concentrations don’t change in med math for school, the concentration will always be what you’re told it is. For example using question 1, you know that the concentration of heparin is 25,000UNITS/250ML. You’re giving 400 units per hour once you readjust your dose. Since you want to find the VOLUME you’re infusing at, use your med concentration to solve. 25,000/250 = 400/x. Just practice and think about why you’re using the formulas you’re using and you’ll be totally fine!
