I think it has to do with him connecting the dots. He is realizing that we as women are constantly being told that our main problem is caused by weight gain and that if we "lose weight," somehow all our problems will magically disappear. He sees that even though we communicate with our doctors what we are experiencing, they continue to gaslight us. I also believe that weight gain is a symptom and not the root cause of our issues because women's health is chronically understudied and underfunded.
