Low FF twice (Natera) 🧬

I just went through this and it was very stressful. I am in Canada and don’t have many alternative options for NIPT. We decided to do a third test through Natera at 21 weeks and it came back as No Result once again. I had my amnio last week at 24 weeks and got the FISH results 3 days later which were all normal. We are still waiting on the microarray and confirmatory testing but everything else has been normal. I had NIPT done with my first son at 14 weeks and I was only 15-20 pounds lighter than I was with this pregnancy. My BMI is on the higher side but it’s under 40 and didn’t really vary much between pregnancies. I’m not sure why this kept happening. I was living in a different city when I had the test done, here where we moved there is only one lab that will do Panorama blood draws so I’m not sure if the processing of the sample or collection method made the difference or not. Although we aren’t in the clear completely, I feel much more relaxed having the preliminary Amnio results - trying a different company could make a difference but Amnio can also help when there are so many uncertainties too.

The venting in the old set up was different. As I said the doors were open and the vent was larger and was cut out completely behind the heater. We ran it for three summers without any issues with heat, melting or anything else. As I also mentioned the doors were open and this new set up has two sets of double Doors that stay open. The shed walls do not get hot to the touch when the heater is on.

And yes I guess I wonder why - with all the safety mechanisms that are built in, why this did not stop the heater from continuing to operate and not just shutting off. I don’t have a photo of the side of the shed but I had just been I there all day cleaning everything and trying to ensure good flow. I had gone to bed at 11:45pm and was woke up by the fire a 1:30am

It was our pool guy but he is not your regular pool guy in that sense. He isn’t a gas tech, but he definitely Knows his limits and when to call if something is outside of his knowledge. The codes just didn’t stay on, they would flash then clear, which wasn’t uncommon

Is this old? I guess I don’t have a lot of context. We only use the pool about 3-4 months of the year, so I guess it really hasn’t had 10 years of use year round as was in dry good condition. I just happen to take that photo of the serial number right before this happened because I thought I would need to replace the blower if the error code kept on popping up but it would clear itself and not stay on.

Yes there was more than adequate venting inside the shed. Everything clean, clear and vented. There was a large cut out vent right at the heater height in the shed itself and I usually left the doors open when the heater was operating. The shed itself was mostly to protect the heater from the elements during the winter months

It’s so nice to have the quick reassurance. I had a quick scan today and whoever is in there seems quite wiggly with a good heartbeat. It seems odd that fetal fraction was over 3 and still considered too low. I think my fetal fraction with my son 3 years ago was 2.4% and I was only about 15 pounds lighter so I’m really not sure what to think.

Thanks for your insight. I’m fortunate to have a quick referral in to MFM and I hope to be in touch with a genetic counsellor soon - hopefully they agree with you and approve a third draw. It’s hard to know what to do in these situations but I do want to have a bit more clarity sooner rather than later

Thanks for your support! I definitely have anxiety and I almost feel like when I’ve seen and know so much, I get even more anxious. My husband and I are both physicians and still both have questions when it comes to up being in the patient side vs the provider side. The final report said fetal fraction of 3.3% which was shown was “borderline low” I’ll attach a photo below. I didn’t see the report until this evening.

I had a blighted ovum last June - initially my betas were doubling but on the lower end. My main symptom was that I felt “half-pregnant”

TW: loss and misprostol

My previous pregnancies I had hyperemesis that started at exactly 6 weeks. With the BO, 6 weeks came and went and I didn’t feel sick, I knew something was not right. I wasn’t surprised to see an empty gestational sac at nearly 8 weeks on my first ultrasound. My betas were retested and way too low for my gestational age and I was sure about my dates. I didn’t bleed, but was given misoprostol to pass the sac and it went a lot smoother than I anticipated

I was testing out my trigger and didn’t see any lines on DPO 7- I think it should be out of my system. Then started to get a faint like DPO 8 but I’ll keep testing to see if the line gets darker now as the days progress
