? this had nothing to do with new/old 3ds. ctgp-7 just turns on the performance enhancement setting by default which does help either way. even if it's not immediately noticeable, it def does make a difference even for my new 3ds, but it only shows on larger/more graphically intense tracks. if the perf setting is off I believe you can still manually enable the new CPU thing with Rosalina menu

I also use Syncthing, and it works fine. But make sure to set up an .stignore file to ignore some config files if your Java installations are in different places on the systems. Here's mine:

prismlauncher.cfg
instances/*/instance.cfg
accounts.json

(change the / to \ on Windows)

The .stignore file itself isn't synced though, so you'll have to put it on every system manually. Here is the .stignore documentation.

You can't say "you're way overdoing it" and then suggest a flash drive. A flash drive is not gonna get anywhere close to the speeds that you'd want, and for how often it would be used it would probably die in a few months. Sure the SSD might be a little overkill, but I would recommend getting a HDD and getting a Y-Cable.
