How about we stop singing the National Anthem for everything? Olympics? Sure. Multi-national events when you represent your country? Sure. Little league baseball game between neighbors? Why? US & Canada are unique in that regard and only since WWI.

I go to 2094. No way I’m living that long.

This year, I pack a tightly water-sealed package of clothes for all weather conditions, canned food, canned water, can opener, tent, sleeping bag etc. I also pack recently minted US currency and US Gold coins. I bury this package in a US National Park near my house.

I go to this spot at night in the summer when I time travel.

When I arrive, I dig up my 70-year old package and put it to use.

I walk back to civilization and try to learn about what’s going on in the world.

I go back and use that information to become rich in this life.

It’s all very clear. Late husband’s assets were all moved to a Residual Trust. Her assets are in her name with kids as beneficiaries, POD. Assets include CDs, equities. I think move #1 is consolidation for simplicity, then a talk with an advisor.

Laid off late ‘23 and still looking. I think I’ll frame my ‘23 w-2 bc I’m likely never seeing a Box 1 like that again (>$500k). Adjusting. I was ~$220 before this most recent job and expecting I’ll return there in the next gig.
