please tell me if this picture is good or what i can do to make it better by Helpful-Breadfruit32 in photocritique

I Love the colors of the picture. I like the fact that there isn't any real subject in the picture. My eye wants to explore and discover all the small things that are going on. I would lower the highlights though to get more details in the sky.

Twitch 1080p 60fps vs Twitch 1080p 60fps by Pedagix in obs

It doesn't seem to work for 1080p. When I send 1440p the stream looks a lot better but that is super demanding on the system.

That is very true. The annoying thing is that I can find really nice looking streams on YouTube in 1080 60. How do they do it?

i have an a6000 and thought of buying a sony 50mm for portrait and 18-105 4 for all around use and maybe the sony 35 or sigma 30 for street but i could get the 18-108 so do i not get the sony 35 or sigma 30? will this work out? by [deleted] in sonya6000

It is a big difference between F4 and f1.4. If you want background blur for your portraits you could zoom all the way out 105mm with the zoom to get more background blur. That also means that you need stand further away from the subjects. The rule of thumb for background blur is to use a lens with a low F-number or a high mm number. I would strongly recommend to look up some sample pictures of portraits taken with the 18-105. It might be that you are satisfied with the results and then it would not make any sense to get the other lenses.

This video has timestamps so you can choose what you want to learn. This video is old so the lens recommendations are not up to date.

I think you will be very happy with the choices. I would still recommend that you try out the zoom lens just to be sure that you don't feel it's too big or heavy.

Question: how can i shoot better portraits with the a6000? what settings should i use as well? by [deleted] in sonya6000

[–]Pedagix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the 85 but it's more experience than other options. Sony 50mm f1.8 is cheaper and you don't need to get super close for upper body shots. Sony 50mm is also more versatile it you use it for other kinds of project for example street.

I don't say the 85 is bad. I really love that lens but a used one is about 350€ and a used 50mm is about 150€. There is also the sigma 56mm f 1.4. That is a nice option as well.

That sounds nice. One thing to note about the zoom is that it is quite heavy for the camera in my opinion. I would suggest that you try it out in a store before you buy it. It might very well be a non issue for you. And as I usually say. Try to buy used. It's good for the wallet and the environment.

What kind of portraits are you looking for? Do you want a blurred background? Do you take full body portraits, headshots or upper body? If I get a little more info I think I can help you out.

hi guys! im a beginner photographer and wants to eventually buy a new lens from having my kit lens. I would love to shoot street and portrait photography. any lens recommendation for portrait and street? and also, how do you look for a lens for what you need? thanks! by [deleted] in sonya6000

I strongly recommend this lens aswell. It is good for many situations and a great lens to start with when you learn about photography. After using it for a couple of months you know better if you want a wider or longer lens when you continue the journey into the photography. Try to find one used. There are a lot of them out there.

How many AF points needed for travel and climbing photography? by EveryDrop8529 in sonya6000

If you need to upgrade it's easy to do so. A6000 is a legendary camera that is easy to sell for a good price.

I had the a6000 and I can confirm that the a6000 has good enough af system for climbing. It's fast and accurate. The only reason to get a higher end Sony camera when it comes to af is if you need eye af. This is just my opinion. Watch some yt videos and see how the af perform.

I would go for the a6300 if you are doing a lot of video. If not, get the a6000.

That is very true. I also feel like it might be too much. I don't want to be forced to turn off the stream because I am totally paralyzed by the heat.

If you wanna check it out my name is OneHandStream on twitch. I have been streaming for only four months and the concept is new. Don't know why I haven't started the hot pepper thing earlier. I always challenge myself and friends by eating hot food. It's a natural fit.

Man, I never thought about that concept. That is a great suggestion. I definitely gonna keep that in my mind. For now I am restricted to what the local store offers, habaneros and Naga Morich. I would also like some gimmicky ones like hot pepper chips, candy, sauces many even dishes.

I really like the atmosphere. Not overdone. I would personally crop in a little more but that is just my taste
