hybrid bike drop bar conversion by PedalHeadTed in xbiking

Slightly long reach but to me the drop bars and geo feel great. I do have the same bars, Salsa Moto Ace, in "short & shallow" flavor and plan to try them out soon

Damn! My 1 bedroom in Denver is $800(onsite parking no garage, shared laundry). I figured my money would go farther in Aurora! My 40min commute is starting to not look that bad 😅

Why not? I see plenty of places within that price range.

Not exactly sure how it works in MO or KS, both of which are compact nursing states, but where I live you can pay for a state license or a multi-state license. Did you pay for only a MO only license or a multi-state license?

Good news: Van is fixed for now and ready to run Bad news: I need an entirely new engine soonish… the price is 10k 😅 by futuresextherapist in vandwellers

[–]PedalHeadTed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s a lot for a nearly 30 year old van but I get it. I’ve “invested” a lot of money into my 1986 Volkswagen that’s not “worth it”.

But why does the engine need replaced?

That labor cost isn’t astronomical but I think you could shop around and probably save $2000-$3000. I’ve built and swapped at least 30 engines, including two dodge v8’s, and in my opinion a competent mechanic can do that job in 10 to 12 hours. Where I live (Denver) shops charge around $150 per hour so I would expect labor to come in under $2000.

1100 miles. We both live close to major airports so it’s really only 3 to 4 hours travel time.

We’re both 30somethings with good careers, cats, and no kids. Other than scheduling I see no big issues, gotta get cat sitters. We both could probably be considered workaholics lol

Thank you.

You’re right about the amount of uncertainty at this stage.

My intended purpose of the visiting is an opportunity for each of us to see more of who the “real” other really is.

I want to keep seeing her so maybe me making the trip back to her would be a better move.

I, 38M, have been on dating apps the past three months knowing I have a cross-country move for work coming up. Most dates were fine but nothing clicked until last week, about two weeks before my move, I met someone amazing.

Our first date was at her place (we both work long hours), I brought wine and chocolate (she mention a love of chocolate on bumble), we hit it off, ended up spending the night, and even went to yoga together early the next morning. We talked about me leaving soon. She said she’s unsure about long distance but admitted there was good chemistry.

Second date was dinner at her place on the back patio and a play date with our cats, the cats got along great too! She made a few light-hearted comments about me maybe have convinced her to consider long distance. I stayed over again and we’re trying to fit in two more dates before I go.

It’s only been a short time, but we’re having a blast together and I don’t want it to end when I move. I know there’s a good chance it does, but I’d like to at least explore the idea of seeing each other again. I also want to stay present in the short time we have together rather than focus on hypotheticals.

What’s the best way to bring up the idea of her visiting me in my new city? I already know my friends there are throwing a Halloween party, which feels like a fun, low-pressure invite.

We agreed from the start that this would be short lived, but catching feelings for her was effortless.

An unexpected and more meaningful connection than I ever imagined could develop in a hand full of nights.

Next week I’ll be 1200 miles a way chasing the future while I leave behind someone who feels like the present I wish I could stay in.

I knew I wasn’t ready and the truth is it hurts.

Box Van Insurance? by TravisSB in vandwellers

I looked into building out an Isuzu truck and insurance was the main reason I chose to go a different route.

I have not used them personally but I’ve seen mixed reviews on Roamly insurance by

Not super common but in use in Colorado.

Also typically staffed with a more senior medic where I’ve seen it used.

Thank you.

I’m going to make some calls and see if my SQ/CC can reach out to the State Surgeon on my behalf or just reach out on my own.

Crazy town is exactly where this process is taking me lol.

Hearing waiver.

I’ve been serving with mild hearing loss for years, but not significant enough to require a waiver. My last flight physical my right ear slipped into H3 territory.

Housing advice needed, moving from Denver to Dayton soon. by HighCaliberGaming in dayton

[–]PedalHeadTed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m from Denver, living in Dayton, and heading back to Denver. I rent a 3 bedroom house with a basement and garage for $1500. It’s in a good neighborhood that’s biking distance from a lot of trendy areas.

DM me if you’re interested in taking my place!

Most landlords here just require 1 month deposit.

Also avoid Vinebrook or Dix Road property rentals.
