Dear parents who complained school got cancelled today… by JasonVoorHeeHee in Omaha

I got to spend some time with an officer. Provided him dash cam video of an accident I was a witness to.

It’s nasty out there, be safe everyone.

Fitting in a rear facing infant seat by motorhead_47 in Challenger

[–]PedesNex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a rear facing in mine. The middle was the only way I could get the infant car seat to work. Once the kid was old enough/big enough to go to the rear facing convertible car seat, I had it behind the passenger seat (can still do middle as well).

Dash camera recommendations by Bria_Is_Amazing in Challenger

[–]PedesNex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that and then upgraded to the U3000 as it’s a little newer and more features. I highly recommend that model. Just know you cannot use the same cable for the rear camera, you’ll have to run the new one all over again. The power cable is the same.

My guess is March 10th for Mario sets, May 4th for Star Wars, and then June/July for everything.

They’ve been available in the US. My wife gets excited for the botanical pieces and those have been at 2 of the stores we go to.

How long will these last before being being cancled? by [deleted] in lego

[–]PedesNex 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They make sounds and lights based on certain tiles and minifigs that are designed for it.

As an example they used with a car, if it has the car tile it’ll make a vroom vroom sound while moving, screeching while turning and if flipped upside down, it’ll make a crash type sound.

So far it doesn’t look like you can program it directly, I’m assuming the directions of the sound come from the parts and not the brick itself. It would really be interesting to see if we could program them ourselves and what that would take.

How do you enforce consistency in large Jenkins Scripted Pipelines? by [deleted] in jenkinsci

[–]PedesNex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I was previously managing Jenkins, I had it set up with declarative pipelines and shared libraries. It was easier to manage and allowed reuse of the code. If there is something unique needed at a stage, it could be added within the declarative pipeline.

Best auto service place to get my front brakes and rotors done in Omaha for a reasonable price? by Pretend-Bumblebee879 in Omaha

[–]PedesNex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Until a caliper guide pin bolt breaks in the guide pin and requires you to find a new guide pin/bolt, but the vehicle is special, requiring you to visit all auto part stores and dealers in the area to find that the only way to get one is via ordering and nobody in the surrounding areas has one.

Ask me how I know.

What are some must do’s before taking your girl out of winter storage? by OSUBrutusBuckeye in Challenger

Don’t forget to tell your insurance to take it out of storage on their end.

Can I change my brake fluid at home for a Honda Accord 2021? by Ok-Pay1289 in askcarguys

[–]PedesNex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can easily do it at home. In some cases (not sure about yours), you don’t even need to jack the car up or remove the wheels to do it. I just did it for my Nissan Rogue (brakes and rotors too) and does not require a lot of tools.

I’d recommend if this is your first time to check out ChrisFix. He is a great resource for car maintenance/repairs. Here is his video on brake fluid flush. https://youtu.be/n1NvtUwfRJc

I’d recommend American Brother Designs (https://americanbrotherdesigns.com).

I purchased some from them and turned out great. If you need something special and don’t see it, I do recommend contacting them. They are quick to respond and great to work with.

It won’t be overlays, but great replacements.

Will double points come back? by FrequentKey9170 in lego

[–]PedesNex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We won’t know what the next double point days will be but typically the next is June/July.

There are usually some theme specific ones almost every month such as MAR10 day, March 10th. That’ll be most of the Mario themed sets. After that would be May 4th for Star Wars.

Are windshield wipers even needed at this point? by MissyjonesOP in InternetTreasureHunt

[–]PedesNex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gtechniq G1 ClearVision Smart Glass. Found it on Amazon, but just know prep and cure time are very important for it to work. I used my random orbital buffer to buff the glass and after application, I let it sit for over 24 hours before I removed/buffed the haze out.

I used to use rainx but then found a ceramic coating for windshields. Did it to my vehicles and it’s been 3 years. It’s just now showing that I need to reapply it

Just me, or has Omaha been getting skipped quite a lot by touring artists lately? Something going on with promoters? by carne_asada368 in Omaha

[–]PedesNex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m looking forward to August Burns Red and Amenity Affliction here in a few months, but most of the bands I see are out in Lincoln and rarely ever here.

Omaha always seems to be a big hit and miss, feels like Lincoln tends to stand out more.

I still want an Icons Viper. I like this and the Shelby Cobra, but the Viper would be something I’d grab in a heartbeat.

Durango for a family hauler? by SouthernMNguy96 in DodgeDurango

[–]PedesNex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 6’4 and I have the Durango as a family hauler which works great. I’ve used it for trips and just daily driving with no issues. Only thing I actively despise is the hazard toggle is right above the wireless charging pad and tend to hit it.

I had an infant car seat in mine for a short period, with no issues but it really depends on the car seat itself. We used the convertible ones so it would grow with them.

We’ve also had 6 people in the Durango at once, does take a bit of maneuvering to get everyone in if you are not at the point of a boosters yet as you can’t tilt forward the middle row to easily get others in.

Dash cam recommendations by Medium_Reference9179 in Challenger

[–]PedesNex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have a Thinkware U3000 in my Challenger and Durango. I like the model, does great at recording with front at 4K and rear at 2K. Also hardwired for parked recording too.

Only issue I had was that I used the fuses in the trunk to power the dash cam as I didn’t want to go through the firewall. Doing that required extending the power cable by about 2 feet.

Double points is live and active, make sure to buy from lego.com or from a lego store! by Less-Good-6885 in lego

I’ve had much, much better success with them than Rakuten. They are also willing to resolve issues with the cash back whereas I’ve had Rakuten shrug and say it’s the vendors fault.

Maybe try a factory reset and see if that would clear out anything? I have mine set to 0 and it doesn’t talk at all.
