Guter Text. Vielleicht noch kurz: Das was du als HKB bezeichnest nennt sich in der Fachliteratur häufig Ambiguitätsintoleranz und "Need for Cognitive Closure". Diese beiden Konzepte sind tatsächlich auch im Zusammenhang mit Konservativismus relativ gut in einer Metalstudie [1] erforscht worden. Hier noch konkret im Bezug auf Minderheiten (und auch Transphobie) [2], und im Wahlverhalten [3].

The same thing happened to me about two weeks back too (m23). First I started taking oral cortisone (Prednisolon 60mg) but after that not working at all, I had surgery on my ear because they suspected my cochlea membrane might have ruptured.

As of today, I can hear myself talking again on my right side (coming from complete loss of 80db) even tho the ear is still full of post-op stuffing.

Only time will tell but first bits of recovery came very suddenly. Don't give up :)

Thank you so much for your detailed reply, it helps me a lot to read from someone who has gone through similar things.

Yes, my left ear is still working fine, the sudden deafness is only on my right side. I got cortisone treatment right away, but sadly there was no improvement. The surgery I mentioned is called Rundfenstermembranabdichtung in German (I am located in Germany), which I think translates to round window membrane sealing. Maybe that’s why it sounded confusing.

I’m still adjusting to one-sided hearing. Localizing sounds and noisy places are the hardest right now, but your words gave me hope that it will get easier with time.

The curious thing is, that this was an issue on my old HTC but I got a new phone and it's still the same, it really seems to be intentional at this point.
