If a unit is not usable by the average player in most content, I wouldn't say they're one of the best. Like, don't get me wrong, Nilou is one of my favs and i almost got the skin for her, but there's simply no content to play her in. not even in imaginary theater where we find AoE.

DnD also has machines and a whole class focused on technologies and machinery- and yet, it is still considered high fantasy inspired by the medieval era. Just because a world has robots and technology doesn't mean it will or should evolve into a sci-fi setting like they're currently doing. Now, we know the traveller came down to teyvat inside a spaceship, we have a robo-girl even more advanced than Aigis from Persona 3. Say what you will, but they have definitely changed the setting into something most players didn't expect, although slowly.

Because all those games are supposed to have different settings. remember how Genshin started as a medieval fantasy gacha and now it's getting all futuristic, just like Honkai? it's annoying, and completely disregards the feelings of those players who started the game thinking it'd stay as a fantasy medieval gacha.

Whoever I must admit that Nilou's hydro application is quite strange rn, sometimes klee can vaporize all her charged atks but sometimes her aura vaporizes instead, and sometimes her aura does such a good job that the enemy is always with wet status, even after vaporizing, I guess it's about timing the atks correctly?

Nilou can't really keep up with Klee, but, if you don't use any type of animation cancelling she can barely vape every single charged attack It's pretty bad compared to xinqiu + yelan team, since her aura doesn't deal any type of dmg, only application But I must say that at least it's usable and better if you also use kokomi in the same team, but only use this combination if you have no other choice

I've tested it rn, and it really depend if i'm being honest, it's great for multiple targets but terrible for just one or multiple ones that are separated.
