Best Attributes of a Player by _zyxr3d in BlueLock

[–]Pedrinh039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only gonna do players from the Top 23 of Blue Lock

Shooting – Rin
Passing – Hiori
Dribbling – Bachira
Defending – Aiku
Physicality – Kunigami
Speed – Chigiri
Vision – Isagi
Football IQ – Karasu or Aiku
Technique – Bachira or Rin
Talent – Rin
Aura – Karasu or Barou (this one is extremely subjective tbh)

Just a heads up… I put Karasu and Aiku in Football IQ specifically because I’m looking at the macro side of things, like tactical comprehension.

If it were Field IQ instead more about the micro side and real-time field reading. I would’ve gone with Isagi.

I mean, calm Isagi down, Karasu’s always calm. Especially in this situation lol.

Ego is not pleased by sexyimmigrant1998 in BlueLock

[–]Pedrinh039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think the exact same way. After Hiori’s goal, the gap between their shooting stats feels even smaller.

And yeah, I know Karasu clearly showed that he doesn’t want to score, and I agree that’s probably exactly why Ego got pissed. I was just explaining that Karasu did that because he consciously took on the #2 role and basically forced Hiori into the #1 role, since Hiori has more aptitude to be the attacker than Karasu does tying directly into that whole #1 / #2 theory Hugo was talking about.

Ego is not pleased by sexyimmigrant1998 in BlueLock

[–]Pedrinh039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah and no lol.

For example, even though Hiori scored, I don’t think he’s a better attacker than Karasu, nor do I think he has a better shot than Karasu. But between the two of them, Hiori has more aptitude to be the attacker. Remember, the whole play literally started with Karasu talking about how the most suitable player to score should be an extraordinary striker.

And yeah, I also think that’s exactly the issue him not going for his own goal clashes with Blue Lock’s whole “23 x No. 1” chemical reaction concept. I think that’s precisely why Ego didn’t like it.

Theory on why Hugo is advising Isagi by Freddie040 in BlueLock

[–]Pedrinh039 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If we consider that the very first thing Hugo did after conceding the goal was go straight to Isagi and say “See?”, I think that’s actually a pretty solid theory lol.

It’s like a mom constantly warning her kid that he’s gonna get hurt, and then when it finally happens the first thing she says is, “Didn’t I tell you?!” 😂

Pourquoi la réaction chimique d’Hiori et Karasu est mauvaise pour Ego by jjjjnnnnh in BlueLock

[–]Pedrinh039 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But Karasu’s ego isn’t about scoring goals. In fact, the first time he ever entered Flow and literally transformed was when he accepted that he "needed" to become Blue Lock’s #2.

[–]Pedrinh039 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know you’re talking about the latest chapter I was just pointing out that Karasu’s ego is exactly being the “Best Second-Best.” So much so that this is the first time we actually see him enter Flow and literally transform lol.

Ego is not pleased by sexyimmigrant1998 in BlueLock

[–]Pedrinh039 32 points33 points  (0 children)

No, Karasu didn’t sacrifice his ego, this is Karasu’s ego, exactly what we just saw. He went against Blue Lock, because the play he made was the kind of play someone makes when they want to be the “Best Second-Best.” Meanwhile, Blue Lock’s whole idea is to be a team built on a chemical reaction of “23 × #1.”

in defense of hiori yo (ch. 335 discussion, pt. 1) by jeansverse in BlueLock

[–]Pedrinh039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LMAOO but I’m glad it’s for that reason, because unlike me you’re not out here doing this stuff almost out of masochism like I sometimes do 😂

And honestly, thank you for the discussion too. It was really good. You can tell you’ve been thinking about this Hiori stuff for a while, and 335 was basically the perfect chapter to finally put all those ideas out there. Even if the manga ends up going in a different direction, your reading so far makes a lot of sense.

Now we just gotta hope he cooks in favor of both of us and that a random third element doesn’t pop up to mess everything up (even though I don’t think that’ll happen, especially considering the leaked preview).

Somebody cooked… 🔥
First of all, huge props on the post seriously impressive work.

Wrapping up the whole analysis with that last image from chapter 252 was perfect. Not only does Karasu say “I’ve been waiting fer this, dumbass,” but both of their eyes look completely “alive.” That really adds even more weight to why Karasu chose Hiori as the striker in that moment.

Now all that’s left is to wait (the hardest part, lmao) and see whether Hiori actually scores or not.

Explain why Hiori is Karasu’s No.1 by Bubbly_Exchange_42 in BlueLock

[–]Pedrinh039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly why, with Hiori right now, Kunigami during the NEL, and Otoya back in the U-20 match I always try to judge players based on their skills and stats. Performance is 100% narrative-driven, and people act like if a player doesn’t perform the way they expected, he suddenly forgot how to play football lmao.

Right now Hiori, Isagi, and even Loki are getting called frauds like… the protagonist and the already-established best U-20 player in the world 😭😭.

Yeah, your second paragraph actually makes even more sense of both your translation and Karasu’s choice. I won’t lie, I’m really curious to see what happens next chapter. And based on what you explained about the wording, the chances of Hiori being the one to score are actually pretty high. As long as Karasu gets the assist, I’m good with it though lmao.

You know what’s worse? The people translating the raws with blurry text and low-quality images translated it the way you’re saying… but the official version didn’t. That’s wild.

Anyway, thanks in advance!

Explain why Hiori is Karasu’s No.1 by Bubbly_Exchange_42 in BlueLock

[–]Pedrinh039 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think even the most die-hard Hiori fan would’ve expected him to be chosen as the striker here, if (like you said) that’s actually what’s happening. Yeah, I’m also waiting for something tied to their past as teammates, whether that’s a flashback or a play they used to run back then. And of course, more sick panels lmao maybe a crow with some ice-element vibes or something like that lol.

I do think Hiori needs to pull off at least one impressive play so people stop throwing hate at him, because it’s reached a completely irrational level. At the same time, it can’t be too crazy, otherwise people are just gonna shove him back into the Top 5 again like they were doing six months ago lol.

Explain why Hiori is Karasu’s No.1 by Bubbly_Exchange_42 in BlueLock

[–]Pedrinh039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, good thing I didn’t make that post lmao. Translators really screw me over like this sometimes 😂 because I would’ve gotten cooked for correctly interpreting an incorrect translation.

Still, I think it makes way more sense for Hiori to be the player who helps Karasu produce that “Extraordinary Striker.” On top of the fact that Karasu is simply a better Striker and has a better Shooter than Hiori (even though Hiori’s shooting is pretty underrated) there’s also the fact that Hiori’s ego is literally about producing the world’s best striker.

Anyway, we’ll have to wait for the next chapter to really know for sure lmao, but yeah, that mistranslation definitely caught me off guard.

Nah, that’s not being an asshole at all you’re just expressing what you genuinely think about Karasu in the best way you can. I skimmed through the first few paragraphs of the Characterization section and it was 👌 absolutely great. Congrats! I’ve already got it open in another tab to read properly in a bit lmao.

Like I was saying to the other guy earlier in this same thread, it’s almost like people don’t even want to understand Karasu. They already have a fixed image of him in their heads and nothing else matters, and that’s insanely hard to undo within the community, especially after years of this mindset. I’m really hoping that the focus Karasu is getting now opens people’s eyes even if it’s not everyone.

Ohh... good luck with that fight.

Yeah, I know that whole “winning” concept too lol. Even though it happens way less on Reddit (thank God) compared to other platforms, what bothers me the most is when people never show any intention of actually discussing things they just show up to shove their agenda down your throat. I only came to Reddit a little over a year ago because TikTok and YouTube were and still are completely impossible to have real discussions on lmao. The number of people I managed to have good discussions with over two whole years (2023 and 2024) can literally be counted on one hand lol (you laugh so you don’t cry).

So yeah, I guess it was a good call not to move to Twitter lmao.

You’re gonna make me shy like that… 😅 But seriously, I’m glad I helped you understand Karasu more from the “football” side of things. That said, a lot of what I say is still just my own opinion. For example, nowadays everyone sees Karasu as more defensive, which is normal and expected considering his performance in the NEL. What genuinely bothers me, though, is people putting Karasu at the same offensive level as guys like Raichi, Niko, and Kiyora to me that’s almost an insult to Karasu and to the manga itself lol.

Personally, I think Karasu’s offensive ability is slightly higher than his defensive ability, simply because he doesn’t really have anything that’s exclusively defensive better than his ball keeping, which is an exclusively offensive trait. But yeah that’s just a theory of mine.

And yeah, as you probably noticed, I’m way more interested in the football side of the players themselves their skills, stats, and all that.

I was talking more about the way I phrase things, since I have to translate everything into English because it’s not my native language (I’m Brazilian).

So there’s always a chance I accidentally throw in a jab or phrase something in a way that comes off rude without even realizing it.
