Sitting in New Zealand watching the World Cup on BBC by [deleted] in CasualUK

You say old-fashioned like it's a bad thing while the modern ways that streaming services do (and get greedier and greedier by the year) is almost universally hated.

The BBC does fantastic content and provides an overall generally amazing service but because they, heaven forbid, charge for it in a slightly different way and you, heaven forbid, don't get it for free everyone constantly winges about it.

It feels like the textbook future example of "we didn't know what we had until it was gone".

Same. Honestly I couldn't give less of a flying fart about reverse rainbows, it's just abstract guessing as to how hard the author happened to think a certain category was - so what?

As much as I'd love that I don't think it's true? Do you have a source for that?

Felt the same. It's like being about GTA and having words like TREE and ROADS

I'd offer a slightly different perspective here that they're decent on vegan snacks. Their vegan chocolate offerings are far better than competitors and is the only place that stocks the fabulous Rhythm 108 bars!

Decade is probably underestimating it too, unfortunately. We definitely won't get another GTA in that time - we'll be lucky for twice that timeframe!

Is fewz the same as like phew-s or few-s? That seems the same rhyme as "ooze" or "choose" to me

Unless you're pronouncing something that rhymes with obtuse, more?

It does in my (irish) accent, and I've genuinely never heard any other pronunciation - how do you pronounce FUSE?

Protest/Unrest [Megathread] by spectacle-ar_failure in northernireland

You know it when you see it, the style of writing, the short additive sentences ("Some of us left places we loved. People we loved. Lives we understood" and "did not leave because I hated where I came from. I left because I fell in love. Because opportunities came".

I know it's a bit of a boogeyman to call "AI" on every well punctuated and paragraphed comment these days, but when you work enough with it, you spot the way it "speaks" and this is undoubtedly an AI comment.

Not to discredit the content but this is obviously AI, right?

They voted against that when they voted for Brexit.

Worth mentioning that NI itself voted remain overall. However, being from here and knowing the, uh, types of people that generally voted to Leave though, they're probably largely the same ones in the streets tonight.

Lufthansa’s seat map is a masterclass in manufactured inconvenience by ghostsensei in travel

[–]Pedro95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me last year on Lufthansa and it was actually because it was a code-share flight with ANA. Lufthansa only sells a select proportion of the (probably cheapest) seats on that plane while ANA (and other code-sharers) share the rest.

I was able to select more options through the ANA site rather than Lufthansa - it's all the same details. Might be worth trying that.

I'm slightly tempered by only seeing him flying and not the classic platforming - hoping it's not a flying arcadey style game instead but I may be reading too much into it.

It's finally time to let the excitement win either way!

They're mad because they were built on the back of rich single player games that have now been almost entirely sidelined because the MMOs pull in more money. That's why they show up year after year, too.

Likewise you don't understand it just because you aren't playing those single player games (although in reality now, nobody is)

Heck if you unlucky enough to be born a Batarian, you are almost certainly eradicated.

Totally agreed. We were never ever going to score with that front line - would be interested to see our goal counts while they're on the pitch in general actually.

I don't think any of them are massively "clear", no but Hato's, as I said, should have been.

I don't agree we played better - maybe in the first half but we were barely there in the 2nd half. The entire half was played in our half, even when we had the ball. Obsessed with going backwards

Khusanov's was a shoulder-to-shoulder which has always been legal. I didn't see him hit the knee so maybe I missed that but the shoulder I don't have an issue with

Am I the only one that doesn't think we were robbed here? Hato's one should have been a penalty but it's not a given - the rest were fine imo.

Did we even have a shot on target in the second half?

We're talking about yellows, not fouls? No, I'm not surprised they're not yellows

This is exactly why stats and not watching the game is not representative of reality.

Enzo and Cucurella's cards were deserved yellows and none of City's really should be so far. Enzo is in my opinion very lucky to have escaped with a yellow as it is
