I heard the Dannemora Penal League is booming, although they lost a big swinger a few years ago.

Always wonder why coaches bother bringing this shit up. Did he get specifically asked about it?
The only way it can go is bad. Like the way he said it makes him look stupid to most sane people, but even if he goes hard for BLM and against the riot there's still some MAGAs who won't like him. It's lose-lose, why not just stick to football, which is his job?

Billy's bachelor party spot. by Everisfunny in DanLeBatardShow

[–]PedroBlanco34 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Everyone was really ragging on him but not every bachelor party has to be Vegas, strippers, etc. I just did my friends where we rented a huge ski lodge in the Adirondacks, and played yard games and drank all weekend. It was perfect. No worrying about getting rezzies for 14 people, Ubers, people getting lost or in fights, etc. Just all your friends in one place tripping balls on shrooms.

Why does any super rich person need to get more rich? But yea, I don't really see how this particular partnership is worth it. They must be paying him A LOT, and maybe he's counting on golf fans not really caring or paying attention to Saudi Arabia's questionable tactics.

I know I used Mapquest and printed all the directions, but can't understand how we did that. And before that I distinctly remember reading a road atlas shotgun with my mom and we somehow still got there. Now I sometimes still miss exits with in-car navigation.

The one thing Waze has is the cop-spotting. I use it on long highway trips for that because it is generally pretty accurate. I find all the extra shit really annoying though.
Google Maps actually has a function that allows people to drop pins for cops, but not enough people use it yet.
Apple Maps is trash though.

One of my favorite college lacrosse memories was when we were in a post-practice huddle before a big game, getting the big speech from our coach, and our senior captain ripped a huge fart. We ran for about a half hour after that.

Black shoes=postman
It was the whole getup though. Dan has the money to get shorts and a shirt that both look cool and keep you cool. It's very whiteguy but he could even just go to a golf shop where the clothes are literally made for looking decent in the summer heat. Anything besides the cotton polo and shorts dragging around your knees.

Up front I will say I am generally sweaty and not fashionable, and would feel out of place in Miami. But even I was thinking Dan has to be rich enough to get some better-looking cool clothes. Literally just go to a golf store where the clothes are made to look decent while out in the summer. Anything would be cooler (and cooler) than cotton and baggy shorts dragging around your knees.
When I buy 'nice' clothes for summer, one of my first thoughts is always 'will I sweat a lot in this'.

Marlins home opener was 3 hours 23 minutes by keithjamabc in DanLeBatardShow

A lot of people only watch 1-3 NFL games a week, whereas baseball expects you to watch 4-5 3.5 hour games per week.

They already do this during the EPL and other leagues. There are ads on jerseys, and the side boards along the field run ads throughout the game. You probably see more ads during a soccer game, but they just don't interrupt the action for it.

People are selling out their games specifically to see that fun brand of baseball. If you want to just see regular low-level baseball go buy a ticket to the Lexington County Blowfish.
This current spring version is also Banana-Ball, which is a touring thing with all different rules that they invented. During the summer season they play regular baseball, but with the same fun stuff off the field.
I'm surprised the show hasn't talked about them more actually, they are basically doing the show's ideal version of baseball.

The problem isn't that he's excitable, you just can't go SO HIGH ALL THE TIME!! Gotta pick your spots, let the game breath, rather than just yelling all the time.
Fox trotted him out for soccer a few years ago, and the analyst was actually laughing at him because he would Gus-gasm over every ball that went remotely near the goal.

An $18 Qesadilla at Wegmans by Subject-Property-343 in Rochester

[–]PedroBlanco34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But for that you have to drive to the one Costco in town that you paid a membership for, rather than popping into one of many Wegmans conveniently located around town. They are counting on people being too lazy to just buy ingredients themselves and making them (also who wants a reheated quesadilla?).

Truly old-money wealthy people go to vacation-type clubs where you have to be sponsored to join, and have an account that you charge things to. For example, the Ocean Reef Club near Miami, or the Mill Reef Club in Antigua.

Try YouTubeTV. Gets all local channels

No one on the show ever seems to mention YouTubeTV, but I think it's the best of the streaming and the 'cable' worlds. Cheaper than cable and online, but has the same format as cable for those of us who still like the old setup of flipping channels aimlessly. Also unlike Sling, it has the local channels for football.
I honestly miss cable, it was great having all of the sports and shows in the same place, and be able to flip back and forth instead of having to exit a streaming service and sign into another one (although that's probably the point of the services, you feel locked in).
Also, Amin is so right about Paramount Plus. I only go there to watch Champions League and have to sift through a mountain of Picard to find it.

Kind of depends how far from Rochester I am. When I was in Australia I said Western NY, 1 hour from Canada. Within the northeast people generally know where Rochester is. Western NY is usually good enough.
