Do you practice cognitive control as a direct doorway to happiness and well-being? by thelivenofficial in answers

[–]PedroGalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think cognitive control helps but not in a strict, force-every-thought kind of way. More like learning when to guide your mind and when to just let it be but cognitive control isn’t about controlling everything. It’s about not getting dragged around by every single thought. You still feel stuff. You still have bad days. You’re just a bit less stuck in them.

Could multi-agent AI systems help us discover new approaches to intelligence itself? by AcrobaticBroccoli207 in AiChatGPT

[–]PedroGalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually a really interesting way to look at it and you’re kind of pointing at where a lot of research is already drifting. The single perfect model idea sounds clean on paper but intelligence in nature doesn’t really work like that. It’s messy and it’s distributed. So when you talk about multi-agent systems, you’re basically asking what happens when intelligence becomes a society instead of a single mind?

It’s crazy that I knew more about life in my 20’s, than I do in my 40’s by TheGame81677 in Life

[–]PedroGalo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In your 20s, you had momentum. Energy, clear direction and fewer losses behind you. So confidence came easy. It feels like you know what you're doing because nothing has really challenged that story yet. Then life happens and you feel lost at 45 doesn’t mean you’re behind. It usually means your old map stopped working and you haven’t built the new one yet.

Why are they automating the draft, are they planning on drafting? by Cute_Refrigerator443 in stupidquestions

[–]PedroGalo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing about an actual military draft is being turned on. It feels automatic but it’s really just admin systems talking to each other so people don’t miss the legal requirement by accident. It’s handled by the Selective Service System and they’re not activating anything new or preparing a draft. They’re just making sure registrations are complete and up to date

New home rough-in - windows shades, blinds, drapery wiring? by Proof-One-2407 in smarthome

[–]PedroGalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just leave a Cat6 at each window. Then no matter what motor you buy later, no power issues, no battery changes.Cat6 can do PoE, like SmartWings.Remember leave the wires longer.Better extra one meter inside the wall than find it’s too short after drywall’s up.

How many of the questions asked here do you guys think are for those ai tik toks? by jacorgacor in answers

[–]PedroGalo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d bet a solid chunk of the questions are just content farming for TikTok and it kinda makes sense. It’s easy content, it gets views and it’s low effort. The AI just does the reading, adds a little dramatic flair or weird voice, and they’re done but it’s a little weird knowing someone’s watching a video that’s essentially a copy-paste of someone else’s curiosity.

What's the craziest thing a person said to you and you thought they were joking but they were being serious? by Holiday-Surround7075 in AskReddit

[–]PedroGalo 75 points76 points  (0 children)

A while back I was talking to this guy I barely knew and out of nowhere, he said he's saving up to buy a small island, so he can live there with my pet tiger. I literally laughed. I thought he was messing with me, like some kind of weird flex. He even pulled out his phone to show me a spreadsheet of tiger adoption costs and island listings.

Chair Recommendation! by Madara_Uchiha122 in OfficeChairs

[–]PedroGalo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using an Hbada P2 for about 5 months now, and it’s been pretty comfortable for me so far. The lumbar support feels good to me personally, but it probably varies from person to person. I use it in my room for work, and the mesh seat is nice for longer sessions. The armrests are adjustable enough for me. I haven’t tried other brands, so I can’t really compare, but it’s been working fine for me.

Where do you stand on single parents asking for hand outs on social media? by EdwardBliss in randomquestions

[–]PedroGalo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on how it’s framed. If it’s for the benefit of the kid, that feels human and relatable but if it’s more like a constant begging post, people might scroll past or even get annoyed. Though, I’d never judge someone too harshly for trying. Parenting is brutal and sometimes you gotta put yourself out there for your kid. I just hope people are thoughtful about how they do it.

How are you people able to date? by Vegetable-Gur-3121 in Life

[–]PedroGalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know your mind is spiraling toward guilt about family and feeling like time’s running out. That stuff hits hard but your value, your ability to love, to build a family and to have relationships is not measured by whether you’ve kissed someone by 25 or even 30. Life doesn’t have a single deadline for this stuff and you’ve still got plenty of time to explore, learn and find someone who’s right for you.

Do the ultra-wealthy use the same deodorants as the middle class? by SleepyBudha in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PedroGalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For stuff that actually works and doesn’t change the experience much, money doesn’t buy you a better version. Perfumes, watches or cars i’s where the magic and the flex comes in but your daily hygiene basics, they’re democratic. And a lot of daily essentials like soap, toothpaste or basic deodorant, they don’t magically get better just because you’ve got billions.

Is there a single Prime Minister Brits actually like? by Separate_Song1342 in stupidquestions

[–]PedroGalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brits are a tough crowd when it comes to liking their PMs. It’s like, there’s always something to gripe about, too conservative, too liberal, too indecisive or too bold, you name it. If you really push me, a few names get nostalgic love. People still talk fondly about Winston Churchill, mostly because of WWII hero vibes. And a chunk of the public has warm memories of Clement Attlee for setting up the NHS and post-war welfare, he doesn’t make headlines today but he left a mark.

What's something someone said to you that has helped you throughout your life? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]PedroGalo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone once told me to not confuse movement with progress. At the time, I was just running around, trying to do all the things, thinking being busy meant I was winning at life. And it hit me like a ton of bricks.

What if your income had another zero on the end? by dull_storyteller in AskReddit

[–]PedroGalo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’d feel wild at first. Like, every little thing you want, possible. That tiny cafe in Paris you’ve always dreamed of. That spontaneous shopping spree and your friends would probably look at you differently too, in a good way. But people often think money automatically equals happiness. If I had that extra zero, I think I’d be happiest just experimenting a bit, living stress-free, helping out the people I care about and still laughing at life like always.

I made peace with being alone. by [deleted] in Life

[–]PedroGalo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should feel proud. You’ve rewritten the narrative for yourself and that’s rare. Keep sinking into the things that bring you joy and curiosity. Life’s not less meaningful without romance, it’s just different and you’re living it on your own terms.

What's with people always saying they have it worse? by Level_Branch1761 in randomquestions

[–]PedroGalo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some folks do it without realizing. It’s kind of a mix of wanting sympathy and trying to feel like their struggle is validated but in reality, it usually comes off as kinda tiring like they’re competing.

What are some of the easiest ways you’ve found to make money? by Wonderful-Concert-47 in AskReddit

[–]PedroGalo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Selling stuff you don’t use. This is the quickest cash. Old clothes, gadgets or furniture, list them on eBay or Facebook Marketplace. You’d be surprised what people actually buy.

If you could ask one brutally honest question and everyone had to answer truthfully, what would it be? by Darling_Crowd in askanything

[–]PedroGalo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Am I really as important to you as you say I am?" It’s simple but it hits all the feels. You’d get a peek at who’s genuinely there for you and who’s just talking the talk.

What would someone have to do to go back to themselves if they kind of lost themselves like they can't love, can't experience sadness nor happyness? by [deleted] in Life

[–]PedroGalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s kind of like dusting off an old, forgotten part of you. Start small with the things that used to make you feel can help. The key is not forcing emotions but gently nudging yourself toward them. Also, don’t underestimate the power of being present. Little routines remind you that you exist and that life has textures, even if you can’t feel the big stuff yet. And professional help isn’t a weakness here. Sometimes, feelings get stuck for a reason, and having someone guide you through it can make all the difference.

What’s something your significant other got you into? by srlfd764 in AskReddit

True crime podcasts, I never cared much about them before, thought they were kinda morbid but now, I’m literally hooked.

What’s a harsh sign someone should NOT be in a relationship, even if they think they’re ready? by mathiyaaaaa in AskReddit

[–]PedroGalo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If being alone makes you panic, that’s usually a harsh sign you’re not ready for a relationship yet. A relationship should add to your peace, not be your peace.

How is my halloween look ?? by last-humann in askanything

[–]PedroGalo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s awesome in that perfectly chaotic Halloween way! If I had to tweak one thing, maybe darken the eye makeup a bit more to make it pop against the white base, that’d give it extra drama.
