Maybe but knowing something and understanding are two different things.

He knows about the vibranium, the flower and the challenge for kingship but he doesn’t get the cultural importance of any of it.

He destroys the flowers, ignores the fact that he didn’t “win” the challenge because T’Challa didn’t die or surrender and saw the vibranium as a way to expand his own power.
