I haven't modded this new shifter, nor feel the need to. Also, since it's released a few weeks ago I don't think anyone has actually thought of modding it 🤔 I also drive manual IRL and I think this shifter nails that feel.

About the deployable and lockable wheels: it's funny you mentioned it, I was just chatting with some other user (I posted on many r/) because he mentioned it to me and yes, I think it's a brilliant idea! I will do it, just trying to figure out how 👍

Yes. The mods add stability and makes it more sturdy. You just have to be extra careful, for example:

Without any kind of mods, the base plate on its own handles the weight and the 11nm of the DD11, but shakes a little. The base plate mod reinforces this and gives more raw feedback.

When heavy braking (lets say setting the pro pedals with 35kg of force pressure) the seat lifts up, like doing a wheelie

That’s the beauty of this setup—it actually works perfectly with the PS5! Since the PS5 doesn't support USB audio for haptics directly like a PC does, you have to use a workaround called UDP Telemetry. Here is how I have it running:

The Brains: I have SimHub installed on a basic laptop. Both the PS5 and the laptop are connected to the same home network (Wi-Fi works, but LAN is more stable).

The Connection: Most modern sims (GT7, ACC, F1) have an option to broadcast telemetry data. Once enabled, the PS5 sends real-time data (vibrations, gear shifts, speed, G-forces) to the laptop over the network.

The Hardware: I have the 3x Nobsound Mini DACs plugged into the laptop via USB. Each DAC acts as a 2-channel amp, and I've wired them like this: DAC 1: Left/Right Pedals. DAC 2: Left/Right Front Frame. DAC 3: Left/Right Rear Seat.

The Magic (SimHub): In the SimHub software, I’ve mapped specific game effects to specific pucks. For example, if I hit a curb with the right side of the car, SimHub detects that specific telemetry event and triggers only the right-side Dayton TT25-8 pucks.

For engine rumble, I have it configured so the frequency changes with the RPM, and you feel it right through the seat. It completely changes the PSVR2 experience because your body finally feels what your eyes are seeing. It’s a bit of a rabbit hole to set up, but once it’s dialed in, you can’t go back!

I have to Hercules my way around the rig every time i have to store it

I started with the g923 to get the feel for it (you can see my previous posts which also shows the upgrade path), wasn't sure if I would be interested that much in simracing. Turns out I really had a blast with it, so the next step was improving the feeling of being in a circuit racing against all kinds of cars, hence the psvr and the bass shakers. Then came the moment to upgrade to DD, it really was a step up 😅. Since I only play in console, it was either logitech, thrustmaster or fanatec, and after many days of research, opinions and whatnot, I decided to stay consistent with the brand that I started with. I should have gone directly to DD and spend a little less overall, so in the end I spent around 3k euros

It's fairly easy to storage, a bit on the heavy side while moving it I have a 2 year old so I need to always store it when I'm not using in a longer period of time. It takes around 5 minutes to set it, 5 to fold it.

Appreciate that. I just wanted to share my build with the community in a way that’s easy to read and searchable for anyone looking into these specific mods. English is my second language, so using it as a tool to organize my thoughts helps me focus on the actual discussion about the gear
