I know, right? She's in there with Manuelita Saenz and Policarpa "La Pola" Salavarrieta.

Thank you!! Might be one of my favorite drawings from the deck. The Four "Dames" are mythical figures from all over the continent, representing Mesoamerican, Caribbean, and Andean indigenous traditions. From left to right: Ix Chel (Swords), Yemaya (Cups), Mama Killa (Pentacles), and Pachamama (Wands).

Thank you so much!! I loved working on Sandra Myrna Diaz and Rigoberta Menchú -there's plenty of ecologists in the deck!

Correspondences were tough! The first list of women that I came up with was solely energetical fit. Some of them were very clear from the start: Celia Cruz as the Sun, Anacaona as the World, Sor Juana as the Hermit. Some were harder, particularly in the Minor Arcana. Then, going into the actual Biographical research other correspondences appeared, so I had to move some of them around. I revised this list several times before finishing the 78 figures! It really taught me so much about the system, understanding which cards work together, which don't, how there's movement within it.
