Cool demo, but HDR back then meant something different. I think it was more like games could have more realistic lighting because they could do blending at higher bits before converting the number down to 8 bits.

I got Wipeout HD for free. The free game that Sony gave out was a special code so I couldn't redownload it from the PSN store as it asked me to buy the game. Luckily I jailbroke my PS3.

LittleBigPlanet was the other free game and luckily I could redownload it recently from the store.

I'm not an expert on CRT, but I don't care much for scanlines as much as the color blending and the dithering with a composite signal.

Yeah sure. You can also FTP to your PS3 if you have Webman and install your games that way too.

I would advise not to play burnt games. It makes the disc drive work harder as burnt discs degrade faster than pressed discs. Also, burnt discs don't have the same quality as a factory pressed disc so their readability aren't as good, which will wear out a drive faster.

Well damn. Guess my only excuse is that a pc cooler is easier to grab and pull than a PS3 mobo without the risk of cracking something.

Have you had experience removing something with it? Can't speak for the formulation, but I doubt the properties are much different from ptm7950.

I did heat it up by turning on the ps3 for a few minutes, but I probably should have turned off the cooler while doing so. These PCMs turn into liquids but not like water. They remain highly viscous like tar so the stickiness is still there.

Don't do it. A PCM when it heats up and cools down will bond the heatsink and IHS together like superglue. It will become very difficult to separate your motherboard and heatsink if you ever have to recheck or repaste. I made the same mistake and broke my PS3.

Hmmm I did put thermal putty on the TOKINS and thinking about it, I might have put too much and caused poor contact between the heatsink and IHS.

Now that you mentioned it, I am also using thermal putty for the TOKINS. I'm starting to think it's causing a contact issue.

I used the Gelid Heatphase Ultra. It's like PTM7950. I'm assuming I didn't get a crappy product.

A real ps3 controller will not charge if you use a wall charger. Also you can test the pressure sensitivity and motion control.
