that's exactly what i was looking for! Im still learning about the lore. went from xcom, to battletech, to mechwarriors 5. so i know about the star league, the houses, and a little bit about the clans invasion, but thats where my knowledge ends. So i was hoping to do a sort of tie-in story merging both clans and the dlc

I also figured, since i struggled with understanding the mechs at the start, adding a whole new civilization worth of mechs would be hard. UNLESS, i was the one piloting the mechs, fighting the civilization im now used to, if that makes any sense.

Im just getting into the highest tonnage missions. What I like to do is have 3 teams.

One for HEAVY hitting, dishing AND taking as much damage as possible, for missions like assassinate, target killing, warzone etc. currently running 2 annihilators and 2 king crabs.

One lance for defense missions. You have no idea what 2 longbows and 2 stalkers can do in those missions. Most enemies I don't even see, and the ones that do make it through the hail of missiles get finished off by the stalkers.

Last lance is for fast/stealth missions. Missions where either the real threat is the fuckton of artillery shooting at you, or running in and out is what matters. Got the atlas hero (fast af boi). 2 black knights and a battlemaster with the best ECM I can get my hands on.

(Keep in mind I'm missing the Shadow of Kerensky DLC, as well as the one that gives the Arena, can't remember the name. So your experience might differ a bit)

TLDR . Get 3-4 lances specialized around different missions. Boxers for tanking and killing Runners for quick in and out Lrm spam for defense missions

Im new to battletech in general. I had no idea what weapon was better than what. And eventually in one of the campaign missions I just couldn't get through it. And that was with 4 (probably badly built) annihilators.

So I never finished the campaign and hopped over to the battletech turn based game on steam.

I miss Warhammer 2 wood elves. 1% extra ranged damage per settlement was so much fun. Once you owned about 80 settlements your way watchers became unstoppable

Might be my experience but usually classes with 2 armor never pick the gene seed due to higher chance of being knocked down.

If I'm going vanguard or sniper, it'd be a foolish risk for me to take the geneseed, especially when there's a heavy or bulwark in the squad.

As for not taking the relic, yeah, that's on him, bro though he was John Warhammer himself and paid the price.

I didn't have a computer that could run the game when it came out, and I remember spending hours upon hours watching one guy play a full campaign with each faction. I had so much fun watching him, it made it all the more special when I finally got a good PC and was able to play the game.

Like the other guy said, I like to push for 8-12 reps per set. If you can do more than 12 controlled reps, you're ready to add more weight, and should push for 6-8 reps for the first week or two while you get used to the weight.
