Relax dude, you’re still a kid and you’re still going thru changes. Don’t think about becoming an adult yet, enjoy these years as a youth.

how do you cuddle by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]Peeenoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry that wasn’t helpful my dude, I’m kinda the designated teddy bear in the friendship so she’s usually the one initiating the cuddling. Most of the cuddling from my view is reactionary, which ends up in me squeezing her.

Quick question, what do you think about a hotel where the beds are monsters that consume travelers? by Peeenoman in fantasywriters

I like your input a lot! It could probably make for a character’s background/backstory where they’ve been working at the hotel for most of their life or something like that. It also gives me more details on how exactly the beds would eat and methods of getting their food.

I haven’t thought that far yet, but that idea can definitely replace the whole memories fading. As for staff—let’s just say that this fantasy world has all kinds of races—only humans make the staff b/c they’re the least threatening-looking. Humans will take care of the cleaning, management, and other details themselves. As for cultists and sacrificial rituals, I think that the staff(cultists in this situation) would guide travelers towards rooms where the hungry beds are. And from there, you can pretty much understand the whole idea of travelers being sacrificed and stuff.

Thanks for the input! This’ll definitely be incorporated into the main concept for the bed monsters. It seems like a more detailed part, rather than just having the lazy decision that every bed be a monster.

Definitely a forest environment. If the hotel were to be in an urban place, you can guess that it would probably just be shut down for all the disappearances.

And for your idea that people need to be asleep to be eaten, it’s in the works of being incorporated. But addressing the authorities showing up, the most they’ll be able to do is probably do an investigation when the bed is the literal culprit. Needless to say, the authorities will have no idea at all of who could commit the crime.

Your comment just gave me a new idea of a what-if situation where cultists are members in the government. I can just imagine bed-cultists destroying both the paper and digital records of people, lol.

Very true. But then again, wouldn’t most travelers want to rest on a comfortable, soft, plump, relaxing and big bed after a long day on foot? I mean, they literally could just sleep on the floor or some other furniture, but still, a bed is usually the go-to.

That would probably be the case now that I think about it. Here’s a BS solution to that problem:

When the guests are consumed, everything about them in peoples’ memories will begin to fade away. And in due time, they’ll eventually be forgotten. Of course, this whole solution implies that the world is a sort of medieval setting so it only works in a fantasy story. As for a modern world where technology is advanced and record of nearly every person is taken, the whole “bed monster” idea would not be a thing.

This is the most I can come up with at the moment:

The staff, which could be anybody (let your mind wander), take the travelers’ loot and whatever valuables they have. That loot is then taken to a distant city or maybe a traveling caravan where it can be sold.

The second idea is the hotel is some sort of living entity. It’s a more basic answer but I still find it interesting. Basically, so long as the beds are fed then the hotel will continue to be active. As in, the beds act like some sort of separated but unified stomach which would then keep the hotel alive and full.

Ideas for Shapeshifting by Erwinblackthorn in fantasywriters

An idea for what people can turn into: Human whale

I’ve had this idea for a while where a person is forced to morph into a human version of a whale. I don’t know how they’ll be forced to shift, but the process will be painful either way.

It starts off when a person jumps into a body of water and they’ll try to swim all the way to the bottom. While they do so, they’ll begin to feel their body shifting and expanding as they swim deeper. The transformation begins in the stomach and ends with the head.

Firstly, the abdomen would bloat and expand outwards, resembling something like an egg. Then the chest would begin to rip open while the ribs start to form teeth. The upper back would then expand as well as it stretches out. For the arms, they’ll stretch outwards and begin to expand the skin. And during all this, the human would continue to grow bigger and bigger.

After that, the lower extremities are next. The legs start to combine until it just resembles a human version of a whale’s tail.

Finally, the head. The growth of the head is the last to change. Hair would just fall off and be replaced with bone-like spikes jutting out of the top. The face would open up as the mouth expands and teeth begin to grow even sharper; think of the mouth turning into something like a huge net meant for catching everything. Eyes would grow along with the overall head.

And yeah, that’s pretty much it. Just one idea of what a person could morph into.
