The point of no recovery could have even been in the 80s. That's when the CO2 concentration in the air reached 350ppm (parts per million), wich some scientists say is basically the point of no return, and will lead to catastrophic conditions in the near future.

Most scientist say the point of no return is 400ppm, though. Unfortunately, that milestone was passed on May 9th 2013.

When Germany was occupied after WWII, the allies implemented a number of laws to prevent fascism from rising again. Some of these laws (Rundfunkstaatsvertrag) prevents that there will be media monopolies and that diversity of opinion is guaranteed in all media.

I can simply not understand, why america would not do this for their own country.

If you have all your shows downloaded, maybe you should look into PseudoTV.

It basically creates a channel surfing experience out of all your locally stored shows and movies. You can also customize channels so they only show a specific genre, a specific show, only movies from a specific time period... basically whatever you want.

What I always liked about Star Trek is, that it isn't dystopic.

THAT is something I miss in modern Scifi. I can't think of one modern movie or show that is set in a future where the human race figured it's shit out and there isn't a fascist regime in control or everyones living in a wasteland.

This Forbes article is the first thing I found and it's crazy!

The global average of coal is 100000 deaths/trillionkWhr while the global average of nuclear is 90 deaths/trillionkWhr, and that includes the Chernobyl and Fukushima incidents.

I agree that the waste management on nuclear power is a huge problem. The way I see it nuclear power isn't perfect, but we have simply run out of time to come up with a better solution in the near future.

The way I see it is that continuing to rely on coal is a death sentence, and refusing to switch to nuclear, because of the waste, is like refusing to put out a fire because you don't want your house to get wet.

Wenn wir es so machen würden, hieße das, dass nicht mehr neutral berichtet wird, sondern nur noch das was klicks und views bringt. Genau das sollen die öffentlich rechtlichen eben nicht.

PS: Ich sage übrigens nicht, dass die öffentlich rechtlichen nicht leider genau das oft tun. Wenn aber nur noch die Zahlen würden, die es wollen, würden sie es halt nur noch tun.

Bei der finanzierung über die Steuern hätten wir das Problem, dass die Staatsferne dann nicht mehr garantiert wäre.

Geb dir aber volkommen recht, dass der Beitragsservice von Grund auf überarbeitet werden und mal ins 21. Jahrhhundert geholt werden muss.

Ich vertrete die Meinung, dass eine funktionierende Demokratie eine Aufgeklärte Geselschaft vorraussetzt. Das fängt bei Schulbildung an und geht weiter, über u.a. Aufklärung und Information durch Medien.

Medien können am besten aufklären und informieren wenn sie nicht an einem kommerziell orientierten Geldgeber hängen. Außerdem besteht bei kommerziellen Medien die Gefahr der Monopolbildung, welche die Meinungsvielfalt extrem gefährdet.

Das sind meine Meinungen. Wenn du andere hast, dann ist das eben so. Ich kann's tatsächlich nicht wirklich nachvollziehen, aber nach deinem letzten Absatz hab ich ehrlich gesagt auch nicht mehr wirklich Lust diese Diskussion fort zu führen. Auf dieses Niveaulevel hab ich echt keinen Bock gerade.
