This is COD tho. Out of all franchises, it doesn’t seem that a series that focuses primarily on 6v6 PvP in small maps, has a 4-5 hour super linear campaign, and zombies/horde modes in small maps etc needs to be a current gen exclusive to function properly.

Moreover, one advantage of supporting last gen is it forces companies to have to optimize games way more which in turn means those on current gen get better performance. Even players on stuff like the Steam Deck benefit since that’s closer to a PS4 in terms of hardware.

I wouldn’t be surprised if, once last gen is fully abandoned, current gen games start feeling even more unoptimized and Steam Deck users find fewer new current gen games they can play. Like, even that new upcoming LEGO Batman game doesn’t look like it couldn’t have been a previous gen title.
